“Dr. Death” Steve Williams vs. Bob Bradley (4/4/87)

PPW is not at the Cowtown this week as they are in Tulsa at the Fairgrounds. This is Bradley’s first TV match for UWF and he was the Texas Heavyweight champ in World Class a few months earlier. Doc squashes him quick.

Gary Young vs. Jeff Raitz (4/4/87)

Raitz accidentally knocks down Carl Fergie, so Young chunks Raitz to the floor then drops an elbow on Fergie. Young rams Raitz into the ringpost then throws him back in the ring where he hits an kneedrop off the top rope but Chavo Guerrero shows up. Chavo then hits Young with an elbow to the back of the head laying Raitz on top for the victory.

Angel of Death vs. Ken Massey (4/4/87)

Angel ripping off the Sheik Hernandez gimmick from 2 years earlier is great.

The Fabulous Freebirds (Terry Gordy & Buddy Roberts) vs. The Glassman & Mike Reed (4/4/87)

Squash. Gordy murders Reed with a backdrop suplex.

UWF Tag Titles: “Gentleman” Chris Adams & Terry Taylor © vs. “Hot Stuff” Eddie Gilbert & Iceman Parsons (4/4/87)

Great spot with Gilbert selling an Adams atomic drop like he got shot in the ass with a pellet gun then going to the wrong corner to make the blind tag with Taylor obliging then punching him right in the face. Gilbert would soon go between the ropes to get away from Adams but Taylor would punch him again right in the face, so Gilbert would try to get revenge but as he went to swing at Taylor, he had dropped to the floor. Gilbert turns around and gets nailed with a forearm by Adams that he sells like death. Taylor would tag in and Gilbert immediately ran to the corner wanting to tag Iceman who just stood there motionless. Gilbert would sulk but would get a nearfall on Taylor with a sunset flip then tried to run to the corner to tag Iceman but got caught in an armdrag. Iceman would pull the top rope down and Taylor fell over the top rope, which changed the momentum of the match, as he would stomp on Taylor on the floor before Adams chased him back to the ring. Iceman would tag in and the heels took the beating to Taylor, who got some nearfalls along the way including a cross body block to Iceman which led to the hot tag to Adams. Adams came in like a house-of-fire but Iceman would catch him in the running lights with a boot for a nearfall. Iceman then hit a great left-armed clothesline for another nearfall before tagging Gilbert in where him & Adams would clothesline each other. Both men make tags as the credits roll and of course Steiner & Sting show up for the DQ finish. Adams & Taylor run out of the ring before any damage can be done. This was a solid match although not as long as the Houston match that I’ve already nommed. I’m on the fence on this one.

Rick Steiner & Sting vs. Ken Massey & Jeff Raitz (4/4/87)

Steiner & Sting look awesome here.

Chavo Guerrero vs. The Super Ninja (Kengo Kimura) (4/4/87)

Chavo hits the ref by accident then hits a release German Suplex on Ninja but Gary Young shows up. Young jumps off the top rope but misses Chavo and hits Ninja with Chavo getting the pin.

Steve Cox vs. Mike Boyette (4/4/87)

Squash.

#1 Contender Match for the UWF TV Title: Sam Houston vs. The Viking (4/4/87)

Houston wins this fairly easy and looks good but there was some miscommunication between both guys.
