Which aligns with DMJ's theory that at least to Mox, Punk wasn't hurt enough to not do the squash/angle he wanted to run with him. Jesus, Mox ain’t gonna have a long career if he’s not smart enough to let doctors dictate his healthiness instead of shallow visual indicators like “is that guy walking funny”. Big E is fucking ready to go, by that logic!

Big E is fucking ready to go, by that logic! I think the point was Mox saying Punk was jumping on his bad leg. As in, putting his weight in the thing that's supposed to be hurt. To be honest I didn't make anything out of Mox's words because I also thought he meant Punk was limping around backstage. But then Meltz and Alvarez said it was "hopping around on his bad leg".
April 1, 20232 yr comment_6001440 I love how he skips over his own role in the shitshow. And now he casually mentions that all sides had in principle agreed to Punk coming back, something he had never reported before. I love Dave more than a lot of people here but he has fucked up bad in this entire incident.
April 1, 20232 yr comment_6001446 What does "cleared to wrestle" actually mean? When does modern-day Phil do something modern-day Phil doesn't want to do? Was he arrested for not being "cleared"? Is he blacklisted by the medical profession for not being "cleared"? Punk wasn't thrown in the trunk of an Oldsmobile and driven to the arena while Mumbles and The Lip held AJ at gunpoint. CM Punk "cleared" CM Punk
April 1, 20232 yr comment_6001467 It looks like Jericho is backtracking from seeing to it that Punk would never be back in AEW. That leads me to believe that Punk's return is largely a foregone conclusion and it's just a matter of working out the details.
April 1, 20232 yr comment_6001481 Jericho probably understands that, if Punk does come back, his first program is going to be the big draw and he’s trying to worm his way into it now

We saw that 10 years ago, and they're now both 10 years older. Plus, Jericho said in the past he wasn't going to feud with Matt Hardy, etc. because we've seen that already.

He feuded with Mox when he was in the fed. He then feuded with Mox in AEW as well. That man is a clout vampire, and his feuds benefit him in some way or another. Feuding with literally broken Matt Hardy gives him nothing. With CM Punk? He'd be politicking his way into that in a heartbeat.
April 5, 20232 yr comment_6002220 The Vicki Guerrero stuff is super gross and I'm glad she won't be on AEW TV again.

April 10, 20232 yr comment_6002498 That Dante Martin bump was so depressing, honestly. The only potentially viable alternative wrestling company in America, and you’re having/letting a promising young talent do *that*? On a program where it doesn’t even stand *out* because your guys are doing ridiculous, dangerous stunts all the time?

How many times could we apply this same theory to every other Indy promotion and every other sport in the world.

I’m reading the Vince book right now, and I’m put in mind of Vince aggressively lobbying for the deregulation of wrestling so he could save on the taxes and fees, as well as just his general resentment at control of any form. For as much as AEW and Indy wrestling are marketed as “WWE alternatives”, they sure don’t shy away from swimming in the pool that Vince built. Even if the athletic commissions were kind of a joke, they were at least a scaffolding on which some protections of these people (including from themselves) could have been built.
April 30, 20232 yr comment_6003609 They pump out so many nonsensical designs, I’m almost thinking they’re using some AI to do it
April 30, 20232 yr comment_6003618 There are definitely some telltale signs that they're doing so, at least with a few of their latest shirts
April 30, 20232 yr comment_6003643 That shirt would be fine if it was something the Outcasts wore for heat and not for sale to the general public. Having it be actual merchandise promoted by Britt herself is completely asinine on a number of levels.
April 30, 20232 yr comment_6003648 As someone who doesn't watch AEW, what is the context of the pic on the Baker T shirt?
April 30, 20232 yr comment_6003649 On last week's episode of Dynamite, Adam Cole was getting beaten up by Chris Jericho & Daniel Garcia and she tried to make the save. But she got ambushed by Saraya, Toni Storm & Ruby Soho. The black eye is from a shot she took during that beatdown.
May 3, 20232 yr comment_6003841 AEW's merch is insane. Like, it's not hilarious like AJ's TNA jizz shirt or Sin Cara's cock shirt, but they are just... not good. It's their own brand of bad, which at least is commendable.
June 9, 20232 yr comment_6005497 It’s apparently official…AEW Collision will not be televised in Canada. If Canadian viewers want to see the show, they have to use the TSN+ app, which you have to pay for. (It is in a free trial now, but that will not last apparently.) The best part about that app is that you have to actually watch the show live as it happens because they do not archive the show after it airs. So, if you do not stream the show live as it happens, you don’t get to see it. But at least you get to pay for the privilege! So basically Canada will be hosting a bunch of TV tapings for a show that we won’t be able to actually watch on TV. The First Canada Centre in Hamilton is supposed to have a Collision taping coming up. It has a seating capacity of 18,000 and they’ve sold less than 1,000 so far. The Collision taping at Scotiabank Arena the night before Forbidden Door has moved very few tickets as well. Truly some genius level planning by AEW.
June 9, 20232 yr comment_6005498 The only other show that TSN airs on their networks is Battle of the Belts but they often do it on tape delay. You would think that with 5 feeds, they could find room to air Collision instead of airing the same thing on 3 different feeds. Yeah, I'm gonna skip Rampage & Collision altogether once that the TSN+ free trial ends.
