That is literally the only excuse for how they’ve booked him, at this point. When you have to go the “high drama” route to explain wrestling stories, though, you are pretty much inherently running cover for lousy booking.

Well they couldn't really ignore that Vince was all over TV making sure it was beaten into our heads that Theory was his dude. It's actually pretty brilliant booking when you think about it: they can use the most Vince booking of recent history to call out that 1. yes we know that's what was happening before and 2. KO's promo was literally a how to for Theory to get over and prove himself despite the previous "hand picked" status.

Oh, absolutely. Dude has been doing shit for how many months now? Doing this baptism by fire stuff is like the only way out of this hole they dug for themselves.
