January 20, 20232 yr comment_5998001 I mean, at this point, what else... (if they had got Warrior and Yoko you'd knew they'd want to sell to the Saudis) (also, go back in 1996 and tell people that by 2023, Shawn Michaels will be by far the least offensive of the bunch, talk about something highly unpredictable)
January 20, 20232 yr comment_5998002 Austin was the only real star of Raw and nowhere to be seen so far in promo. Weird
January 21, 20232 yr comment_5998040 Raw is XXX sounds like a wrestling porn parody. By the way, the lead story in the March 17, 2003 Observer is about WWE moving toward a toned-down style due to injuries getting out of control with Kurt Angle's neck injury cited as the specific catalyst. It's true that any contact sport carries an inherent risk of injury and there's only so much that can be done about wear and tear to joints. But every effort should be made to minimize risk of head and neck injury. You can replace a hip. You can't replace a brain.

Gotta love that DDP (from WWF RAW fame) is back on RAW too now that Cody is back in the WWE (some people have noticed where those Cody promos were shot). What a hustler ! 43 minutes ago, NintendoLogic said: But every effort should be made to minimize risk of head and neck injury. You can replace a hip. You can't replace a brain. Oh, for sure. I cringe everytime I see one of those damn headbutts in Japan, I have no idea how they did not learn from Shibata. And some Naito vs Ibushi matches were uncomfortable to watch (I remember Meltz talking how about he hated one in particular because of how dangerous it was).
January 21, 20232 yr comment_5998046 The SAME WEEK Shibata/Okada happened, I was in Korakuen for the Champions Carnival and saw SUWAMA hit a shoot headbutt in his match against Shuji Ishikawa. Don’t expect wrestlers to ever be logical.

The Orton/Edge match at I think Vengeance 04 was used as the model of the new style. One of my favorite matches! Felt like a truly epic ending to a title reign even though looking back, Orton's reign wasn't really all that long.
