Posted October 18, 200717 yr comment_5422897 Gordy comes out for a promo and wants to fight with every heel around. The Lightning Express (Brad Armstrong & Tim Horner) vs. Bob Bradley & Killer Khalifa (6/24/87) Champs look good. Terry “Bamm Bamm†Gordy vs. The Red Devil (6/24/87) Destruction. Flair & Missy have a mutual admiration society at ringside. Steve Cox vs. Jeff Raitz (6/24/87) Cox gets the win in the rookie match of the week. Gary Young comes out after the match wondering why he isn’t on the rookie list. They show clips of the Doc/Bubba title change. “Gentleman†Chris Adams vs. Gary Young (6/24/87) Competitive match but Adams gets the dupe using the Banana Split. UWF TV Title: “Hot Stuff†Eddie Gilbert © vs. Shane Douglas (6/24/87) Gilbert does an awesome job of making Douglas look good here as Douglas was still green as grass. Gilbert looked great here himself with some brutal looking offense. Murdoch would pick Douglas up on the floor and rammed him shoulder first into the ringpost and Gilbert would finish him off with an inside cradle. Very fun match. Dusty & Doc cut a promo about bullrope matches but as Gilbert & Murdoch try to retort, TV time runs out. Sting vs. Mike Boyette (7/1/87) Squash. “Capt. Redneck†Dick Murdoch vs. Bob Bradley (7/1/87) Squash. Shaska Whatley cuts quite the promo about titles. Big Bubba Rogers vs. Davey Haskins (7/1/87) Squash. Steve Cox vs. Shane Douglas (7/1/87) Rookie match of the week and it was pretty decent. Cox gets injured going into the corner and Shane tells the referee to stop the match because he doesn’t want to win by countout. Gary Young shows back up saying the same shit from last week. UWF TV Title: “Hot Stuff†Eddie Gilbert © vs. “Gentleman†Chris Adams (7/1/87) Adams comes out saying that Gilbert picks and chooses guys he can beat for his title matches so he challenges him to a match. Good back and forth action to start the match and when we come back from commercial Gilbert holds on to the ropes as Adams misses a dropkick. Adams would reverse an abdominal stretch but Gilbert would pull Carl Fergie into them knocking him down. Gilbert goes up top but gets a fist to the gut on the way down then a Superkick. Adams makes the cover but Fergie calls for the bell on a DQ, which shows the Dusty influence. Gilbert & Murdoch debut the Top 10 losers list and this is phenomenal. Gilbert getting in the John Gilliam mention is phenomenal for those who know of their background. The Lightning Express (Brad Armstrong & Tim Horner) vs. The Enforcer (Doug Gilbert) & Gary Young (7/1/87) The champs look good. LX would cut a promo after the match and Akbar comes out offering them a spot in Devastation Inc. that they turn down then get destroyed by Bubba & Bart who steal the belts.
