Posted October 18, 200717 yr comment_5422901 You are really underating this, as this was maybe my favorite match I watched all day. Robley is a great scuzzy babyface, and 1982 One Man Gang is Vader level awesome. The lumberjack stips kept it moving at a really great pace, and the missed 747 was insane looking. Robley getting the big win had me jumping out of my seat. I loved this match and though it was a slam dunk nomination
October 18, 200717 yr comment_5422903 I have to strongly agree with Phil on this one. One Man Gang was jumping around in the ring and bumping self-destructively like a Super-Sized Mick Foley. The Colonel was indeed scuzzy and really quick. His selling was great also. The whole Akbar's lackeys v. Robley TV storyline seems to have been very fun. The lumberjacks did not beat on anyone gratuitously, although they must have banged Gang around quite a bit trying to get him back in the ring that last time. And Dickie Murdoch was keeping it real with hsi All Japan Pro Wrestling t-shirt. Phil predicted everyone would get involved, but the finish was quick and clean as a whistle, another nice surprise. Lots of fun, but also some darn good wrestling.
October 18, 200717 yr comment_5422913 I don't know I just wasn't impressed with this as much as you two were. It was a fine match but it was just missing something to me. Here is what I wrote originally Lumberjack Match: Colonel Buckley Christopher George Robley III vs. One Man Gang (9/15/82) The lumberjacks really get involved when the Gang gets thrown on the floor. This wasn’t a bad match and I really liked Robley dropkicking Gang over the top rope right to the lumberjacks. Robley got the win using his brace off the middle rope.
October 25, 200717 yr comment_5423097 What i wrote about this: This on the other hand was just perfectly laid out wrestling with neat receipt payback spots and satisfying flow and finish and probably should be on set.
October 27, 200717 yr comment_5423127 I gotta side with Phil and Tom on this one. It was really wierd watching the father of Necro Butcher and OMG moving twice their normal speed. I bet this ends up in the bottom 5 but it was way better than a ton of matches already nominated.
October 27, 200717 yr comment_5423130 I rewatched this earlier and I'm fine with it being on the block.
