Posted October 22, 200717 yr comment_5423013 This episode has Dundee written all over it. Terry Taylor is announcing with Ross wearing a neckbrace. Mid-South Tag Titles: The Midnight Express (Dennis Condrey & Bobby Eaton) © vs. The Rock n Roll Express (Robert Gibson & Ricky Morton) (4/11/84) MX showed up late without Jim Cornette. This is the usual great action between these two teams and when Morton has Eaton rolled up in an O’Connor Roll, Jim Cornette comes out dressed as a woman and attacked Morton getting his team DQed. This was great stuff and needs to be an extra just for Cornette in drag. Mr. Wrestling III (Hercules Hernandez) vs. Steve Brinson (4/11/84) Squash. Mid-South TV Title: Krusher Khruschev © vs. Hacksaw Duggan (4/11/84) Duggan comes out brawling from the bell with punches and a clothesline among other moves before missing with a cross body block. Krusher would take it to Duggan dropping him neckfirst on the top rope then following with a bodyslam and hit some running tackles but would miss and hit the ropes neck first. Duggan began his comeback with punches in the corner followed up by a spear off the middle rope. Duggan would start punching from the mount until Volkoff shows up and punches Duggan with the Coal Miners Glove. Taylor would try and get in the ring but Reed would attack him and ran him into the ringpost. Ito & Landell come out to run interference as Krusher shaves off Duggan’s beard until Magnum came out with the 2x4 to clean house. This is another definite extra. “Nature Boy” Buddy Landell & “Hacksaw” Butch Reed vs. John King & “Leaping” Lanny Poffo (4/11/84) God damn I love me some Landell & Reed. Masao Ito vs. “Jumpin” Joe Savoldi (4/11/84) Squash. Stagger Lee vs. Mr. Wrestling II (4/11/84) Here we go again with JYD. Stagger kills II with headbutts and then hits the big Thump for a nearfall until Joel Watts gets bumped and Wrestling III shows up using the loaded kneebrace. They try to unmask Stagger until Magnum shows up to make the save. Terry Taylor gets fined for leaving the broadcast position from last week. Cornette announces that the MX would defend their titles 3 times on TV on this show. Mid-South Tag Titles: The Midnight Express (Dennis Condrey & Bobby Eaton) © vs. Greg Koslov & Jason Walker (4/25/84) Boyd Pierce’s suit here is beyond awesome. MX take care of business here. Mid-South Tag Titles: The Midnight Express (Dennis Condrey & Bobby Eaton) © vs. John King & Tony Torres (4/25/84) Match #2 in the best of 3 and yet again another squash. MX’s workout session before this one is fantastic. Mid-South Tag Titles: The Midnight Express (Dennis Condrey & Bobby Eaton) © vs. Mr. Wrestling II & Mr. Wrestling III (4/25/84) Match #3 and Cornette is angry. The RnR Express come out in robes and masks and attack the MX and Cornette. They continue to work with the masks but take them off to reveal their identity. RnR would dominate the early part but MX would take the advantage on Gibson as the crowd goes nuts. MX would go for their Bamm Bamm Slam but Morton would counter out with a schoolboy on Condrey and Gibson would hit a superplex on Eaton for the three count and would win the titles. This entire 3 match series needs to go on somewhere. Magnum TA vs. Krusher Khruschev (4/25/84) This was an okay match before the ref bump and Magnum would hit the belly-to-belly that referee Alfred Neely would count for a 3 count. Krusher pressed Magnum on Neely and went in his tights pulling out the glove and hits Magnum with it before trying to cover him. Krusher looks at Neely for some reason and Neely just raises Krusher’s hand for some reason. This was fucking confusing as hell. Stagger Lee vs. “Nature Boy” Buddy Landell (4/25/84) Landell is getting squashed until Reed shows up attacking Lee. Reed hits his diving shoulderblock off the top rope as Landell had Stagger’s shirt over his head. Reed then paints a yellow streak down his back until Duggan & RnR make the save. Hacksaw Duggan vs. Jerry Grey (4/25/84) Squash. Mr. Wrestling II & Mr. Wrestling III (wearing an Assassin mask) shows up whining about their gear being stolen and their tires being flattened. Wrestling II cuts one of the greatest promos of all-time ever about people that like rock and roll music. This was too awesome for words with II saying that all rock fans smoke dope and pop pills. II & III are angry as hell and they destroy Mike Jackson & Randy Barber. They show a special video on Dr. Death and the RnR Express are in the ring with Ross surrounded by the female fans pimping up the superdate contest.
