Ross interviews Cornette about the happenings of last week. The Rock n Roll Express (Robert Gibson & Ricky Morton) vs. Steve Brinson & Dale Veasy (5/23/84) Squash. Sonny King vs. Masao Ito (5/23/84) King gets the win. North American Heavyweight Title: Magnum TA © vs. Mr. Wrestling III (Hercules Hernandez) (5/23/84) III comes out with II and II whines about not getting a shot so III turns on him and beats his ass. III posts II shoulder first on the floor. III is motivated here to prove a point to II & Magnum and uses a front chancery to weaken Magnum along with a neckbreaker and suplex for a nearfall. III misses a diving elbow drop from the middle rope and Magnum makes his big comeback hitting the belly-to-belly but III throws him on Carl Fergie and III chunks him over the top rope. II comes back out and attacks III then hits a loaded kneelift sending him to the floor. Magnum would get rid of II and would hit another belly-to-belly on III to get the win. II wants some more of III but III would run off. This was fun stuff. “Nature Boy” Buddy Landell & “Hacksaw” Butch Reed vs. Mike Jackson & Mark Ragin (5/23/84) Landell & Reed are fucking great. Krusher Khruschev vs. “Leaping” Lanny Poffo (5/23/84) Lanny is pretty much reserved to jobber status here. Joel Watts produces a Butch Reed training video for his match with JYD. “Nature Boy” Buddy Landell vs. Mike Jackson (6/6/84) Landell breaks out a fucking awesome facebuster and is really sharp here on everything plus it helps that Jackson bumps all over the place. Joel Watts produces a JYD training video for his match with Reed. Sonny King vs. Bob Owens (6/6/84) King is old but he can still go. Landell brings out jobbers to try and take out King but he cleans house. The Midnight Express (Dennis Condrey & Bobby Eaton) vs. Mark Ragin & Buddy West (6/6/84) Total squash. Mr. Wrestling III (Hercules Hernandez) vs. Jay Youngblood (6/6/84) Jay looked good here and he was an under appreciated worker with his early death just over a year later at 30 being a main reason why he has been forgotten. Youngblood really helped III along here and III did look good on his own right with this being probably his best match so far on TV. I liked the finish to this as well, just a fun little match. The Rock n Roll Express (Robert Gibson & Ricky Morton) vs. Barry Orton & Pat Rose (6/6/84) What a great jobber team and this was another fun match. They show highlights of Brad/DiBiase special National title match from OKC. Joel Watts produces a great video for Magnum TA set to My Way by Sinatra.
