Posted October 25, 200717 yr comment_5423086 Magnum has to man this pretty much by himself as Ross was with Dr. Death at a Alabama concert and Missy Hyatt was late due to the serious car wreck with her, Gilbert, & Taylor. Black Bart vs. Scott Sanders (Scott Steiner) (6/11/87) This is great seeing Scott as a rookie. The Fabulous Freebirds (Terry “Bamm Bamm” Gordy, Michael “PS” Hayes, & Buddy Roberts) vs. Mike Boyette, The Enforcer (Doug Gilbert), & Shaska Whatley (6/11/87) Boyette jumps Gordy as soon as he enters the ring and gets destroyed. “Capt. Redneck” Dick Murdoch & Rick Steiner vs. Shane Douglas & Jeff Raitz (6/11/87) Murdoch & Steiner look good and they cut a great promo after the match with Gilbert. Sting vs. The Red Devil (6/11/87) Squash. “Gentleman” Chris Adams vs. Scott Sanders (6/25/87) The future Scott Steiner is a rookie here and gets some offense in but eats a vicious superkick. The Fabulous Freebirds (Terry Gordy & Michael Hayes) vs. Mike Boyette & Bob Bradley (6/25/87) Destruction. Shaska Whatley vs. Jeff Raitz (6/25/87) Shaska looks good here. Barry Windham vs. Killer Khalifa (6/25/87) Squash. Black Bart & The Terminator vs. Davey Haskins & Ken Massey (6/24/87) Squash and Terminator is getting a big push. Terry “Bamm Bamm” Gordy vs. The Red Devil (6/24/87) Destruction. Steve Cox vs. Jeff Raitz (6/24/87) Cox gets the win in the rookie match of the week. Gary Young comes out after the match wondering why he isn’t on the rookie list. “Gentleman” Chris Adams vs. Gary Young (6/24/87) Competitive match but Adams gets the dupe using the Banana Split. UWF TV Title: “Hot Stuff” Eddie Gilbert © vs. Shane Douglas (6/24/87) Gilbert does an awesome job of making Douglas look good here as Douglas was still green as grass. Gilbert looked great here himself with some brutal looking offense. Murdoch would pick Douglas up on the floor and rammed him shoulder first into the ringpost and Gilbert would finish him off with an inside cradle. Very fun match. Dusty & Doc cut a promo about bullrope matches but as Gilbert & Murdoch try to retort, TV time runs out. Sting vs. Black Bart (6/25/87) This is a brawl from the bell with the ref getting knocked out to the floor and Akbar getting involved along with Chris Adams who pushes Bart off the top rope as he tried the Texas Compactor. Sting would get the branding iron and cleared the ring with this match being a no contest. The Lightning Express (Brad Armstrong & Tim Horner) vs. Angel of Death & The Terminator (6/25/87) LX do a fine job here of carrying these guys. Terminator would lock the claw in on Horner after the match and they are really trying to get this gimmick over. “Hot Stuff” Eddie Gilbert & “Capt. Redneck” Dick Murodch vs. The Fabulous Freebirds (Terry “Bamm Bamm” Gordy & Buddy Roberts) (6/25/87) Gilbert sells his ass off for Buddy early in the match bumping all over the place. Gordy & Murdoch finally get in there against each other and it’s nothing but a slugfest that doesn’t last long though as Gilbert tags in. Gilbert would soon take a beating from Gordy then Buddy once he tags back in but Buddy would get caught in the corner and Murdoch would start pounding the hell out of him. Murdoch would start working on Buddy’s left arm in honor of Dr. Death but Buddy would finally get the hot tag on Gordy who starts cleaning house on Gilbert. Murdoch would ram Buddy’s shoulder into the ringpost on the floor before going back to the ring where it’s 2-on-1 on Gordy then hits the referee for the DQ finish. Gilbert would throw the ref to the floor and Gordy has bladed thus bringing out Michael Hayes but he gets jumped from behind on the way to the ring. Dr. Death would show up and he started bashing heads in with his cast with Gilbert & Murdoch juicing. The match was really good then the brawl afterwards was awesome and this goes on the block. UWF Tag Titles: The Lightning Express (Brad Armstrong & Tim Horner) © vs. The Terminator & Gary Young (7/11/87) Okay match that led up to Terminator loading up his glove and putting the claw on Horner but Gordy would run out and nailed the Terminator with Horner covering to get the win. Terry Taylor makes his return to TV with Ross trying to allude to his car wreck but Taylor would say he was on vacation. Shane Douglas & Davey Haskins vs. Bob Bradley & The Enforcer (Doug Gilbert) (7/11/87) The rookies get a spotlight match. Gary Young is at ringside screaming about not being considered a rookie. Gilbert & Murdoch do a promo at ringside about bullrope matches. Dusty & Dr. Death do a retort. Taped Fist: Terry “Bamm Bamm” Gordy vs. Black Bart (7/11/87) There was some tremendous punches thrown in this one with some fine wrestling around it as well. We go to a commercial break and come back with Bart juicing from being posted and Gordy just beating on him. Bart is really gushing here as Gordy chunks him to the floor and slams his head into the railing. Gordy continues to nail Bart with his taped fist but Bart would foul Gordy right in the balls leading to an offensive attack but Bart is really weak although he still fires some good punches. Bart slams Gordy on the railing on the floor before bringing him back in the ring but Gordy would reverse an irish whip throwing Bart into the referee. Akbar tries to get involved but fails and Gordy gets the branding iron using it a couple of times before Angel of Death & The Terminator run in. Gordy is getting triple teamed with Terminator getting his claw on Gordy before the LX would make the save. I liked this a lot but we missed Bart getting posted and the finish was blah so I’m going to leave this as a maybe although I’m open to suggestions. Bunkhouse Match: “Gentleman” Chris Adams, “The American Dream” Dusty Rhodes, & Sting vs. Angel of Death, “Hot Stuff” Eddie Gilbert, & Rick Steiner (7/11/87) This is a wild brawl with Gilbert bumping like a madman for Dusty who was awesome here punting Angel in the balls and just elbowing people. Gilbert juices from a Dusty DDT and has to be pulled to the floor by his partners as the show goes off. I would love to see this in full.
October 25, 200717 yr comment_5423088 Man, I love that Gordy-Bart match. It pales in comparison to Dibiase-Sweetan butI enjoyed it way more than a ton of other stuff that has been nominated.
