Posted November 5, 200717 yr comment_5423490 This is the Houston version of this match off of the Cornette MX set, it is pretty different from the Tulsa match, as this had a Duggan in peril section, as well as lots of Ricky Morton blood. Ernie Ladd was awesome here, his jumping double leg is a spectacularly brutal looking spot. The crowd was molten too, as during the post match MX beatdown it really looked like a riot was about to break out. Man Cornette is almost Bull Painish with his end of the racket to the throat shots. This is a definite pick, and it looks like both of these matches should go on
November 5, 200717 yr comment_5423493 I agree.... both matches deserve to be on. Per our discussion from last night, each one has its own feel and highlights different wrestlers although Rickty Morton shines in both. Mark me down as someone who thinks either one could rank high, if not both.
November 5, 200717 yr comment_5423508 I thought this match was spectacular as well, much better than I expected. Dennis Condrey had some very fun bumps early on. Ernie Ladd's use of the jumping double leg three times in the match, including twice in a row, looked devastating to his opponent as well as to Ernie. The tease of the short Duggan-in-peril segment followed by the proper Morton-in-peril segment was a nice touch. The ending had amazing heat as Cornette went to town with the ether-soaked rag and tennis raquet. I'll look forward to seeing this again on the set.
December 10, 200717 yr comment_5425037 Yeah this is another money in the bank match and Ladd was so great in this role working in these six-man matches. Duggan was really good as FIP and Morton of course was great. The Houston crowd was once again nuclear for everything especially for the beatdown. Another slam dunk nomination.
