Posted November 7, 200717 yr comment_5423633 Eddie Gilbert & Terry Taylor cut a promo after the BONO and Gilbert buries Chris Adams on his way out. Sting vs. Terry Taylor (9/13/87) This is from Dallas at the Reunion Arena with lots of empty seats and Gilbert is handcuffed to Douglas at ringside. This is a brawl at the bell with Sting dominating the early part but Taylor would hit a spinebuster ala Arn to turn the tables but Sting would make a quick comeback. Sting would pound on Taylor and hit a 180 splash off the middle rope on Taylor but hit Pee Wee Anderson. Taylor would get the key to the handcuffs and hands it to Gilbert who unlocks himself then pounds on Douglas before throwing the cuffs to Taylor. Taylor would cuff Sting as Gilbert hit him twice with a chair and Sting juices. Gilbert would hit everyone with a chair as Sting gets handcuffed to the ropes and Steiner/Young hold the dressing room door shut. Gilbert & Taylor bloody up Douglas and keep destroying Sting before the faces would finally break through to make the save. This should be another extra. US Heavyweight Title: “The Total Packageâ€Lex Luger © vs. “The American Dream†Dusty Rhodes (9/13/87) Not much is shown here but the beginning and the finish with a very bloody Dusty. Sting vs. Colt Steele (10/7/87) Squash. The Road Warriors (Animal & Hawk) vs. Mike Force & Bob Morgan (10/7/87) Squash. NWA World Heavyweight Title: Ronnie Garvin © vs. Tully Blanchard (10/7/87) This is from Cleveland and tecnically this is a JCP match but Jim Ross is calling it so it counts as UWF I guess. This is just some assbeating as both men just pound each other especially Garvin who slaps and chops the piss out of Tully. Tully would get the advantage after nailing Garvin with JJ’s shoe as Tommy Young was down but Garvin would fight back on occasion. Garvin would press slam Tully off the top rope then tagged Tully with his right hand when Luger would run in along with Flair. The Horsemen would destroy Garvin to nuclear heat until the Road Warriors made the save poundin on the Horsemen. This was really fun stuff. The Sheepherders (Butch Miller & Luke Williams) vs. Shane Douglas & Ron Simmons (10/7/87) Okay match but Douglas & Simmons are still green although they tried hard and are improving. Ace would give Miller the flagpole and he used it on Shane to get the win. Western States Heritage Title: Barry Windham © vs. “Hot Stuff†Eddie Gilbert (10/7/87) Something I noticd at the beginning is Brian Hildebrand is at ringside taking pictures. Gilbert bumps early and often for Windham before going to the floor to meet with Taylor but it wouldn’t work as Windham would keep the control by working on Gilbert’s left arm which lasted for quite a while. Gilbert would get shots in on occasion but Windham just dominates him although Gilbert would get on offense but we don’t see it as they go to a break and when the tape comes back whoever taped this missed the entire segment as we go back to a break with Gilbert punching Windham four times in a row. Gilbert now is on the floor with Windham after the last break ends with Windham slamming him head first on the table then slamming him on it with the table not breaking but Gilbert would post Windham right afterwards. The action would go back to the ring with Windham locking in a sleeper but Gilbert would him into the turnbuckle for a nearfall. Windham would make a comeback and they have a slugfest until Windham slams Gilbert and drops a knee on his face. Windham would get an O’Connor Roll then jacked Taylor’s jaw on the apron with Gilbert getting a schoolboy for a nearfall. Windham would get another O’Connor Roll when Taylor would come in hitting Windham with his shoe for the DQ. The heels would leave Windham laying as the show goes off the air. It sucks we missed the Gilbert offensive attack but oh well this was a damn good match and a maybe nomination. Jimmy Garvin & Michael Hayes vs. Black Bart & Rick Steiner (10/7/87) This is JIP and they even show an interview with Gilbert & Taylor during the match for some reason. The match was okay nothing special although Bart would bust Garvin open after the match using the branding iron. The Canadian Kodiaks vs. Bob Morgan & Curtis Thompson (10/7/87) Big time squash. Kevin Sullivan vs. David Isley (10/7/87) Squash. The Road Warriors (Animal & Hawk) vs. Joe Lynn & Mac McGyver (10/7/87) Squash. The Four Horsemen (Arn Anderson, Tully Blanchard, “Nature Boy†Ric Flair, & “The Total Package†Lex Luger) vs. The Lightning Express (Brad Armstrong & Tim Horner), Mike Rotundo, & Barry Windham (10/7/87) Not all the time you get all 4 Horsemen together in a match so this is a treat and the babyface side is all pretty damn good too. This was an all action match that would pick up even more with Garvin coming to ringside to counter Dillon. Garvin would eventually take the place of the injured Horner and when he would get tagged in to face Flair he started killing him with chops and punches as the fans go nuts. TV time would run out as the battle goes to the floor and Jim Ross going crazy. This was very fun stuff. Ronnie Garvin vs. Gary Young (10/19/87) Squash. Ivan Koloff & The Warlord vs. Davey Haskins & Terry Jones (10/19/87) Squash.
December 17, 200717 yr comment_5425424 Sting vs. Terry Taylor (9/13/87) Match wasn't great, but the post match was awesome and probably should make an extra NWA World Heavyweight Title: Ronnie Garvin © vs. Tully Blanchard (10/7/87) This was fun, but not good enough to make either a UWF or NWA set, so we don't really have to worry about its pedigree Western States Heritage Title: Barry Windham © vs. “Hot Stuffâ€? Eddie Gilbert (10/7/87) I think the missed segment doomed this, as it was on the cusp, but missing a big chunk like that is enough to drop it off
