Posted August 15, 20241 yr comment_6023408 That was the best video package AEW has done, that Danielson career retrospective was phenomenal. I love how all pro wrestling logic makes Bryan winning a foregone conclusion, but if there was ever someone who would lobby hard to *not* win his final match it's him.
August 15, 20241 yr comment_6023417 I saw someone suggest that Bryan win the title and then turn heel on his daughter by saying he wants to keep wrestling and be champion forever. I almost wish I hadn't seen that because whatever they end up actually doing will almost certainly be a massive letdown in comparison.

That would be hilarious but the crowd would probably pop like crazy and treat him like an even bigger babyface for choosing them over Birdie, lol.

August 15, 20241 yr comment_6023428 I like Shida's jumping knee is more Jumbo impact style than the V-Trigger type most do now
August 15, 20241 yr comment_6023429 TSN in Canads fucked up their schedule so my PVR only recorded like the first half of Dynamite I think.
August 15, 20241 yr comment_6023430 Yeah, they had like Overdrive and then a LLWS game between Chinese Taipei and Canada listed in Dynamite's time slot but they still aired it live anyway. For some reason, they also change the re-run overnight from 1 AM to 12 AM. Must be why you missed half of the show.
August 17, 20241 yr comment_6023490 Swerve-Danielson has become a really hot feud. The All in build is great
August 18, 20241 yr comment_6023545 Kingston cut a great promo last night and it felt right having him back on TV. But am I crazy or did it just hammer home that Dragon is absolutely winning at All In? I was actually thinking about arranging things so I could buy and watch the show live, but with his win seemingly locked in it feels like something I can catch later or the next day.

To be honest, if this was any wrestler other than Danielson I'd say he's 100% winning but that dude is crazy and he could very well just fuck around and take the L in front of 50k people clamoring for him to win (including his family) just so he could help establish Swerve further and go home to be a family man for a couple of years.

He absolutely could. But are they going to have Kingston and perhaps others cut those promos to end up with egg on their face?

It would be weird if they did but if Bryan's point is to make Swerve look like a killer, maybe? I mean, most people agree everything points to a title change at Wembley. But Dragon being Dragon puts enough doubt in that main event, imo.
August 19, 20241 yr Author comment_6023558 Bryan coming out as a killer, having the banger match we all expect him to have, and falling just short because Swerve was just that much more vicious would hardly put egg on the faces of the folks hyping up him up. What's been weird to me is Bryan saying stuff like he did in one interview that he's probably going to need neck surgery before the end of the year. I get that he was probably just trying to cast uncertainty on the outcome, but it makes it appear that if he wins he's just going to be a short term champ one way or another.

Yeah, I just listened to an interview he gave the Daily Star and he literally says that if he wins, he'll wrestle until he losses the belt. The interviewer talked about an scenario were he would be defending it for a year and Danielson said no way because his neck is fucked up he really has wasted the awesome job TK and Swerve had to done in this build. "Meh, I'm done anyways" is not the attitude he should be giving in a press tour to sell tickets, lol.
