Kentucky crowds have always been AEW's worst so I'm not surprised. Nigel with the Danielson match announcement had 100 people reacting to it, lol.

It doesn't help they are in a 20k building and there's like less than 3k in there either.

Exactly! Why even bother running the town if you know it’s going to be bad. It’s really hurt the presentation tonight.

Nigel deserved a better reaction and crowd. Least we get the match at Grand Slam but man that promo was hurt by the horrible crowd.

Speaking of crowds. I wonder how much tickets were for this event.

They had a 3.3k set up and sold 2.7k according to WrestleTix.

Sad thing is that Grand Slam was at 3.7k sold a week ago. They'll be lucky to sell 6-7k (in 19k building) and get a ton of comps to try to fill half the place up.

I'm glad they are finally realizing that the fans like The Outrunners!

Fantastic promo by Moxley to start the show.

At least to me, AEW is starting to feel like a product that is trending in the right direction again. For a while there it felt stagnant and pointless. Hopefully if they can be consistent and get some people and angles hot it will help the crowd size problem too.

I do think sooner rather than later, the Jericho problem has to get addressed though. His shit is consistently the weakest part of the show. It's time for him to go.

Agreed on all counts.

Mox is doing some of his best work in years. He has always been a tremendous promo, but with good material, he transcends greatness

I could see a situation where they planted the seeds last night for Darby becoming AEW World Champion in 2025. If you consistently remind fans what Mox said and ultimately, Darby is the one to dethrone Mox, you get the story to go full circle. Gonna be interesting to see which way they go for that.

I’m not worried about Moxley/Darby since I think Darby beats him at Grand Slam and then beats Bryan at Wrestledream. All of this is building past the Bryan run IMO. Darby is going to hit Moxley with a flash pin and then the BCC is going to kick the shit out of him until he comes back and wins the title. As soon as Moxley mentioned Darby, I had a feeling that this whole thing was designed to get Darby the title

I hope you are right man.

They already made the mistake in 2022 of putting Mox over Danielson to set him up as MJF's opponent to dethrone. And in the end, it really didn't do much for MJF. Instead, it was the Iron Man match with Danielson that truly helped Max go up a level as champ.

If this time around they do the same for Darby, having him chase Mox in 2024/2025 instead of just giving Darby the major rub of going over Dragon....man, that is not worth cutting Swerve's run short at All In.

Moxley can cut all the awesome promos he can/wants but a win over him is just not bigger than a W over Danielson. Don't waste WrestleDream on Mox.

I guess It depends on how they book him/it. If heel Mox is the one taking the title from Bryan and therefore retiring him full-time instead of a younger soon-to-be champ like Darby, that puts a lot of heat on him. Which is exactly who he needs to become for a Darby victory to feel even more cathartic later on. I can see the potential of all of this, it's like when It was Lesnar the one who broke the Streak.

I'm not sure about any of this, though. Not because of Mox, he can carry any story and gimmick, but because he's always hinting at something bigger happening that we don't know and that's gonna changer AEW. I'm very afraid it's gonna be Shane McMahon related, and that would be when this angle dies for me.

The amount of patience, good booking and great execution needed to make all this shit worth the trouble of not doing the basic thing here (have Darby win the belt in his hometown in an awesome/potential classic match with Danielson) is not a realistic scenario for me, which is why I'm so against it.
