Wonder if Lin-Manuel called him up about his “The Warriors” remake. 

Things need to pick up a bit, methinks. 

Tony Khan is going for a 1996 Nitro vibe with his booking but it ends up being WCW 2000 instead.  My God, the fall from grace of the AEW product needs to be studied. I also felt like watching 2019 WWE at times tonight.

It seems like we've had this discussion a thousand times when AEW is starting a new build for something.  People think AEW is cooked for a couple weeks after a blow-off PPV, and then after they build the new angles for several weeks everyone is raving about it.

Time to get Mark Briscoe on the AEW frontline against Mox. In lieu of Eddie Kingston, he’s the best they’ve got

One question will be just how much juice this story has and if the intention is it for it to absolutely be the "A" story for the next 3 months, 6 months, 12 months. 

I'd argue that the nWo storyline was good-to-excellent - if we start with the Hogan turn - an unbelievable 18 months from Bash 96' to Starrcade 97' and I could see the argument, especially in terms of ratings, profitability, etc., it was still working after Sting's big victory. (I wasn't into the Wolfpack and Hollywood split, but it does have its fans and its fans bought a bunch of merch and PPVs in 98'). 

If the intention is to make this angle be "The Show" for the next year, I think the challenge will be how to book enough swerves and twists to make it engaging - something TK and the Bucks ultimately failed to do with the EVP storyline. I mean, I'm not saying its any real barometer of relevancy, but on the Bucks' wiki page, the last entry related to the EVP is from July 24th. That's a 3-month gap since they've done anything resembling a major or important angle (aside, of course, walking away from Mox and Co.). 

I feel like the bigger issue is that AEW created a giant hill for themselves via previous booking. Like, I think doing serious angles is the right way to go. I think serious angles are how you draw money - people can suspend their disbelief & buy into the story. The problem is that AEW has been so non-serious for so long that they first have to convince people that *this* part of the show is different... and trying to do so with Orange Cassidy, of all people, I think is going to be a tougher sell. Obviously when O.C. is trying to avenge his fallen brother, he's not going to be doing hands-in-pocket shin kicks & shit, so maybe it'll be a good way to let him change character.
