Kris told me to watch this last night and I thought he would have posted this by now but this match is a great companion to the taped fist match. A shitload of bare knuckle punching to begin with and every few minutes one of them ends up on the outside. The post-match is quite awesome and the pic of Dibiase in the locker room after is just wild. Not as AWESOME as the taped fist but a nice solid pick.

Ted DiBiase vs. “Bruiser” Bob Sweetan (10/13/85)

 

This is from OKC and Sweetan comes swinging at the bell just waylaying with the punches. DiBiase would go to the floor but Sweetan would meet him on the apron and kept his punching brigade going on but DiBIase would post him. DiBiase then started bashing Sweetan’s head like a madman on the table then started firing his own punches before taking it back to the ring. DiBiase kept bringing it to Sweetan both in and out of the ring but Sweetan would trip him up while on the floor and started working on his leg then started pounding DiBiase before hitting a big-time piledriver. DiBiase would drop Sweetan neck first on the apron and he ran into the referee but would recover to suplex DiBiase back in the ring. Sweetan would revive the referee so DiBiase would load the glove and he jacked Sweetan’s jaw with him falling to the floor. Sweetan is now juicing and tries to get back in the ring but is counted out but starts beating the fuck out of DiBiase in the ring and to the floor. He starts bashing DiBiase’s head on the table then takes off the black glove but DiBiase runs like hell. The camera follows DiBiase to the locker room and he is juicing like crazy. This wasn’t as good as the Houston match 2 days earlier but still fun and stiff as hell and it goes on the block.

This feels more like a top 40 match, rather then the top 10 match that the taped fist is. Still making a disc for sure, super fun stuff with both guys tossing great looking punches, and Mr. Piledriver has a great Piledriver. DiBiase as a bloody mess in the locker was sweet.
