This was really a display for the Can Ams offense before the Shadows took over late in the match giving the Cams a chance to tease a hot tag. The Shadows may as well have been Fire and Flame and I mean that positively. 2 faceless guys keeping the heat by cheating and stooging. The crowd explodes when Martel finally gets that hot tag. This is the type of match that comes out of nowhere that people would enjoy watching. After the match, Heenan sets up a match with the Islanders. Great stuff.
July 6Jul 6 comment_6032257 Can-Am Connection vs. The Shadows (MSG 6/14/87) This is great. It’s definitely a fun showcase for the Can-Am’s early on. I love the Shadows stumbling all over the place & finding themselves in bad spots. The headlock stuff is especially entertaining. The set up for the heat is well done too as Zenk shows his inexperience by going after the Shadow who gave him a cheap shot. He gets caught in their corner which turns the tide. Really good, long heat segment on Zenk. They do an excellent job of cutting off the ring & building to the hot tag. Martel has a strong hot tag & the Can-Am’s win the match with their awesome misdirection flying cross body. Fun post-match with Heenan calling out the Can-Ams & the Islanders coming down for a standoff. STRONG NOMINATION
