Ron Garvin vs. Greg Valentine (Boston 1/13/89)
-    Valentine has the shin guard. Slow start with each guy pushing each other like 2 schoolyard enemies afraid to get sent to the office but don’t want to back down. Hammert takes control with some elbow points to the back and hooks the arm. Garvin breaks free with some nasty slaps and then in the year 1989, they have a chop/slap battle before it became cliché and its awesome. It just means something when its 2 tough dudes doing it. Garvin gets control with some jabs, a headbutt and corner 10 count. These guys hit each other so damn hard. Another chop/slap battle and a Hands of Stone punch leads to Valentine regrouping outside. Valentine back in regains control with a stiff punch. Valentine is punishing the heel out of Garvin but Garvin makes a comeback and punches Greg to the ground. Garvin Stomp and a sleeper but Greg makes the ropes. Valentine switches the shin guard and tries a figure 4 but Garvin counters with a 2 count pin. A 2nd Figure 4 attempt and Garvin counters with a PUNCH TO THE FACE . Great spot as Valentine gives Garvin a shin breaker but another punch to the face sends Greg down and a near fall. A chop/slap battle on the outside for a double countout but this ruled so hard. EASY NOMINATION.
