Posted June 1Jun 1 comment_6030599 Ted DiBiase vs. Hercules (LA Sports Arena 12/17/88) - Hot start with Herc coming in, getting attacked and then taking Ted out with the big punches, and then again with the big elbow. Herc gives chase to Ted but gets caught with the falling fist as he gets back in. DiBiase stays in control and cuts Herc off every time he tries to mount a comeback. Rake to the eyes, big boot in the corner. Ted is really taking it to Herc. He embarrasses Herc by slapping him in the face while he’s down. I loved the variation on the 2nd rope elbow miss. He tries to follow with a regular elbow drop. Miss. Runs to the corner with an elbow. Miss. NOW Herc takes over. Great stuff. Hercules has great strikes. HE tops off the comeback with a powerslam and slapping DiBiase while he’s down. He gets the full nelson but Ted forces a break by climbing with his feet over the ropes. The ref tries a break but gets nailed. Herc hooks in the rack but Virgil nails Herc with the chain. The ref allows the match to continue and Ted gets the pin. After the match, Virgil and Ted try to double team Hercules but he fights them off. The crowd is going nuts for Herc. I had a blast watching this. SOLID NOMINATION.
June 1Jun 1 comment_6030607 DiBiase fet sont he mic as Hercules usic plays to talk some trash about his 'slave'. Hercules charges out and he just cleans house on DiBiase to star. I like the first coupel of minutes with Hercules firing off on DiBiase and Ted just trying to find a breather to no avail. I also like that when DiBiase takes over, he has soe aggression in his expressiona nd strikes, he is defintiely not happy that Hercules is refusing to give him what DiBiase sees as his. That gets further shown by the slapping and attempts at humilairting Hercules. Great character wor from DiBiase here. Ona side note, the matches I've watched from this house show have had a hot crowd throughout and it's no exception for this match. Hercules looks good on the comeback and I like that Herc opts to pay back the slapping rather than go for a pin. DiBiase samrtly tires for the rope break early oto the ful lnelson and the ref accidentally gets hit by hercules when he rbeaks the hold. Nice torture rack by Hercules and Virgil earns his pay by using the chain to save DiBiase while the ref was down. DiBiase steals the win and Virgil come sn to attack Hercules some more. Hercules amanges to avoid another hit fro the chaina nd runs both heels off. I'll second iPad's nomiantion (middle to solid for me), this was fun, DiBiase was great as the jilted angry rich snob looking to humilate Hercules while Hercues looked good when in control.
