Posted March 3, 201312 yr comment_5537639 This had some really great shit in it. Savage goes nuts to start and whips Bad News with the title belt and tosses him to the floor. Bad News eventually takes over. He's methodical but some of his stuff is pretty stiff. He doesn't have a lot in his arsenal and he seems sort of lost but Savage is really good at selling all of his stuff and the comebacks and cut offs are really good. All the stuff on the floor is insane and fucking Randy does a TOPE to Bad News at one point. I thought the missed elbow drop was fucking great and totally shocked the crowd. The finish was fine as a flash pin and the post-match was fun with Bad News bringing out a trash can and Dave Hebner getting hurt and shit. If Bad News hadn't been confused on offense at times this would have been an easy nomination. But it stands as a solid nod for now.
June 1Jun 1 comment_6030608 Randy Savage vs. Bad News Brown (MSG 12/30/88) - Savage comes out with his robe, glasses and headband on and doesn’t wait to attack Brown. He is non-stop attack mode for several minutes. The crowd is going nuts. Brown hits a corner clothesline to turn the tide and tosses Savage out of the ring. Rob informed me that this feud was so heated because Brown accused Liz of doing favors for Jack Tunney. Drama!!!! Brown does not let up and continues to punish Savage. Savage punches his way back but a big boot puts him down again. Brown lays Macho in the corner and does a cool headbutt to the abs that drops him. ON the outside, he throws Macho into the crowd and goes after Liz!!! Savage tried to crawl into the ring but Brown stops him. Bad move because Macho swings him into the post. Man, this is nuts. Macho throws Brown over the top and he does a fucking suicide dive!!! 2nd one tonight. Brown tries to piledrive Macho but he reverses it. Top rope axe-handle to the floor and the crowd erupts. This has been awesome! Brown goes to the top and gets caught. This sets up the elbow and its all over…. But he MISSES. Great drama. Brown goes for a bodyslam but gets caught in a rollup and pins Brown. Savage and Liz celebrate after the match. Brown comes back in with a trash can, smashes Macho with it. Macho recovers and knocks Brown out of the ring, throws the can out at him and Hebner is on the floor hurt. Wild, wild match. Much better than the Street Fight. STRONG NOMINATION.
