Posted June 1Jun 1 comment_6030617 RAY STEVENS vs TONY GAREA (02/05/1983; WWF Championship Wrestling; 00:12:29) - The crowd is really behind Garea here. So both Blassie and Albano manage Stevens and I am laughing that he is the wrestler that they decided would have 2 managers. Really good stuff early on as they work inside and out of a Garea headlock. Stevens escapes the headlock with a back suplex. After a near fall, Stevens just jabs a thumb in Garea’s throat. Nice. GArea has really basic offense but the crowd loves him. Cool spot as they end up in a slugfest on their knees as the crowd has a LOUD “Tony” chant. Stevens takes control with a kick to the face. Ray Stevens has really basic offense but he is a wild bumper and it makes sense he is on the same card as Curt Hennig. Hennig was in the back saying “Yep, that’s what I need to do”. Both guys are fighting outside and it’s a double count out. I am going middle nomination here. Enthusiastic, energetic TV match in a company that employs the Samoans and John Studd. Thumbs up. MIDDLE NOMINATION.
