North American Heavyweight Title: Brad Armstrong © vs. Ted DiBiase (1/16/85)

These two have worked together many times. DiBiase viciously pounds Armstrong’s head into the turnbuckles and he works very tight at the start but Armstrong knocks him to the floor after a dropkick. Brad would hit a high kneelift for a nearfall after DiBiase peppered him with shots in the corner. Brad would work like a madman here keeping DiBiase on the mat and getting a nearfall on a backslide. DiBiase would murder Brad with a backdrop suplex though to turn the tide and DiBiase follows with some vicious kicks to the head with more turnbuckle shots that look like they could KO someone. DiBiase would crank in a rear chinlock but Brad would fight up and ran DiBiase into the corner backwards. DiBiase would miss a diving elbow drop and Brad caught him with punches to the gut and we have a slugfest. Brad comes out on top with DiBiase begging away in the corner but he would eat a backdrop/high kneelift before a sleeper hold. DiBiase would run Brad into the corner head first again breaking the hold and DiBiase would fall to the floor. DiBiase would grab Brad’s right leg and wrapped it around the post a couple of times to setup the figure-four which he locks in and Brad cries out in pain submitting. This is a definite nomination and much better than their house match.
