Posted June 4Jun 4 comment_6030737 RICKY STEAMBOAT vs BOB ORTON (03/07/1986; WWF Philadelphia Spectrum; 00:18:56) - They battle it out early including a nice clothesline by Bob. Oh wow! Bob does an early version of the diamond cutter/RKO that forces Steamboat to retreat. Great spot as Orton takes the turnbuckle cover and chokes Steamboat out with it. Orton goes back to the neck, throat every time Steamboat tries to get momentum. The fans get in a Steamboat chant. IT shocks me how enthused they are for this compared to the Macho Man match. Great exchange where Steamboat gets a crossbody reversed by Bob for a two-count followed by an Orton powerslam. Orton wants to put it away but gets a karate fist to the face. Dragon is tagging Orton’s face now. Orton does a corner charge right into Ricky’s knee. That looked brutal. Bob is so nuts… he does a spinning back bump off a karate chop. Ricky tries to put him away but can’t. A high cross body gets a close two. Irish whip and Orton counters with a GREAT swinging neckbreaker. Orton gets a backbreaker for three… but the foot was on the ropes. As Orton celebrates, Steamboat gets the roll up for win and huge pop. Orton is pissed. He piledrives Ricky and tosses the referee. The crowd is flipping him off. They announce that Orton is suspended for unsportsmanlike conduct. This match was awesome. EASY NOMINATION. (NEED TO COMPARE WITH THE 7/20/85 MATCH THAT FINISHED #19 ON THE FIRST SET)
