Posted June 4Jun 4 comment_6030740 HULK HOGAN & JUNKYARD DOG vs DORY FUNK JR. & TERRY FUNK (03/08/1986; WWF Boston Garden; 00:17:43) - Great start with Hogan and Dog attacking the Funks. Dog is using the chain, giving zero fucks. The Funks bounce around for Dog including a sweet punch that sends Dory outside. Terry tries to repeatedly headbutt JYD to comedic effect. More comedy ensues but Terry is so good at it, you don’t mind. Hogan has bandaged ribs selling the SNME attack. Terry throws a tantrum outside. Hulk slams Terry and Dory repeatedly and they retreat again. Hulk gets thrown out and Terry attacks Hulk with chairs. Then hits him in the ribs with the branding iron. This doesn’t last long as Terry lights Hulk up with his punches which Hulk no sells. Dog comes in but misses a falling headbutt to allow the Funks back in it. Dog with a back suplex and he makes the hot tag. Terry goes back to bouncing and comedic selling. The match breaks down and as Jimmy Hart is distracting the ref, Terry is choking the Dog with the rope. Hogan comes in and hits a huge clothesline for the 123. Great finish. This was the Terry Funk show. I don’t know if it will make the final cut but this will be more memorable than 2/3 of the set and is a SOLID FUN NOMINATION.
June 4Jun 4 Author comment_6030747 EXPOSER: 10. Hulk Hogan/Junk Yard Dog vs. Terry Funk/Dory Funk Jr. Fun match. Terry was awesome in this. His stooging act is so fucking great. He had another hilarious stare down with Gorilla before the match. He mistakenly tried to headbutt JYD and bumped and stooged for him excellently. The best part of the match was Terry's drunken state on the floor and getting his feet tangled up in production wires. Most of the match wasn't very impressive and contained a bunch of no selling from Hulk and JYD. Dory was actually a pretty good stooge in this but Terry still smoked him at it. Terry did some cool shit like choking Hulk with wrist tape and lassoing JYD with a fucking rope. Hulk saved JYD with a big clothesline on Terry for the win. Terry was a blast and everything else was just along for the ride.
