Posted June 6Jun 6 comment_6030859 GREG VALENTINE vs TONY GAREA (11/14/1981; WWF Philadelphia Spectrum; 00:18:48) - Hammer controls early with an armbar and Garea isn’t really working to get out. Come on people, move!!!! Hammer finally decides to force the issue by beating up on Tony. Hammer does a knee drop on the arm and comes up limping so Tony starts attacking the leg. Smart. Now Tony is working the leg and the crowd is behind him. It descends into a slugfest. Tony slams his leg into the apron. Hammer gets a nearfall from a well-placed NASTY forearm. Another slugfest! Garea hooks in an ab stretch which Garea has won matches with on TV so it makes sense the crowd is going nuts. Damn, those forearm blows from Garea are wild. Hammer counters with a pointed elbow for the pin. Garea initially had his leg over the rope but Hammer hooked it. This started off slow but turned into a really good match. MIDDLE NOMINATION. After the match, Tony and the ref look at an instant replay. The ref explains his decision and this is fascinating Tony wants a rematch.
