Posted June 6Jun 6 comment_6030860 MR. FUJI & MR. SAITO vs TONY ATLAS & SD JONES (11/14/1981; WWF Philadelphia Spectrum; 00:28:07) - The fans get behind the faces. Atlas hooks in an arm bar and gets rolled up as the heels cheat to keep him down but then he does a row boat with the arm to please the crowd. They keep the arm stuff entertaining and it is broken up when a tag is made and Tony held the arm too long. SD Jones comes in and they stayed active until a nerve hold gets hooked in. Not Samoan nerve hold boring so that is a plus. SD fights out so Saito slams him down to the mat. Fuji comes in, rips at the nose and the applies the nerve hold. OK, Jones fights out after a couple of minutes but misses a dropkick and he’s down on the mat again. Now, they are moving and punishing Jones. This is finally picking up. Jones gets a big bodyslam and makes the hot tag. The jheels bump big for Atlas. HE’S DANCING!!! I was just telling Devon last night how much I hate Tony Atlas so far. But he has been fun in this match. Damn, now Tony misses a dropkick. He is thrown out of the ring and posted. Now Fuji is biting him. He’s rammed into the post. Oh! Atlas is busted open. I think that is the first time I have seen Tony bleed. The ref is distracted and Tony rammed into the railing. Oh, this match just took a turn. Atlas is bleeding and they are biting his forehead. Wow. Literally just tagging in and out biting his forehead. Jones is helpless. Atlas is trying to fight but he’s lost so much blood. Great quote from the announcer “They are having batting practice on Tony Atlas”. SD Jones gets the tag but he is checking on Tony, not fighting. Tony is a fucking mess. SD gets Tony out of the ring and Tony goes to the back. Fuji literally has blood dripping from his mouth. The crowd is throwing things into the ring. SD agrees to a handicap match. SD is unloading on the heels and he is biting them. It just descends into a fight. Saito hammer shim form behind and Jones collapses. The crowd is chanting SD but the Japanese just beat him up. Atlas comes back bandaged up and just attacks both heels. He pushes the ref but the crowd is wild. He’s pounding on Saito who is just sitting on the ref. Atlas gets DQed but the crowd is as loud as they have ever been. So this started off slow but turned into a WAR! It went from no fucking way to an EASY NOMINATION.
