Posted June 6Jun 6 comment_6030874 MR. FUJI & MR. SAITO vs RICK MARTEL & TONY GAREA (01/18/1982; WWF MSG; New York, NY; 00:13:14) - This time, the special ref is Pat Patterson. Faces start off fast including a flying body press for two but Saito comes in and quickly controls. This doesn’t last long as the faces fight back. Both teams are tagging in and out with much of an advantage. That’s a pretty nice change of pace. Even Fuji is more vicious and less gimmick. They beat up on Garea for a bit until he fights out of a nerve hold. A noggin knocker allows Fuji and Garea to make the tag. Martel has the sleeper on Saito and Fuji tries to break it up but Patterson stops him. Fuji chops Pat but he just punches Fuji back. Fuji gets the salt and throws it in Pat’s eyes for the DQ. I liked this DQ much better than the random DQs that came before. This one at least had purpose and the match was much more back and forth throughout. SOLID NOMINATION.
