Don Muraco vs. Jimmy Snuka (Fijian Strap Match) (Philly 10/22/1983)

-          Muraco interview with Kal Rudman before the match. Muraco tells Jimmy to fuck off and doesn’t want to put on the strap. Jimmy is tired of waiting so he sneaks behind Don and headbutts him. A dazed Muraco gets the strap put on him by the ref. Jimmy plays tug of war and immediately uses the strap to choke Muraco. Muraco breaks it up with a low blow. Muraco pulls the strap around Jimmy’s eyes. I don’t know how painful that is but it is a cool visual. Now Don is whipping Jimmy. Jimmy fights back and Don is bleeding. Jimmy wraps it around his fist and pounds the cut. FUCK. Jimmy whips Don in the face with the strap! This is torture. Violence for the sake of violence. Jimmy wraps the strap and jumps from the 2nd rope with a fist smash. Jimmy wraps the strap around Don’s neck and chokes him. He headbutts him and chokes him with the strap against the ropes. It looks wild. Huge headbutt brings Don to his knees. HE is just punching him in the head. A bloody fucking mess. Jimmy charges at Don and Muraco moves the ref in front of him. Don takes the strap off Snuka and whips him. Jimmy grabs the strap, hogties Muraco and does a SUPERFLY SPLASH. Jimmy loses because the strap is off his wrist but the hogtie finish was AWESOME. Snuka just pounds on Don real quick after the match for the hell of it. EASIEST OF NOMINATIONS.
