Greg Valentine vs. Don Muraco (Toronto, Maple Leaf 7/24/88)
-    Great history lesson by Gorilla about the people he has injured. No mention of Wahoo lol. Don tries to get the guard off right away. Hammer rams his shoulder in the ring post and Muraco is now slamming his arms in the corner and tosses him outside. He hammers the arm on the railing and ring post. Nice. Muraco breaks the count, goes back out and smashes the arm on the broadcast table. The crowd is wild! Muraco is working the arm and its great! I was not expecting that. Damn, he wraps the arm around the steel post. Breaks the count, does it again. Wow. Muraco trying to regroup in the corner but Muraco wants him in the middle of the ring. Hammer runs, dodges, and Muraco catches him and turns it into a shoulder breaker. That was awesome!!!! Muraco charging in the corner and hitting Valentine’s legs turns the tide. Now that Hammer is ion control, he pulls Muraco to the corner and rams his legs in the post. Break the count. Repeat. AWESOME. Hammer working the legs with vicious focus. He turns the shin guard around. Almost a figure 4 but Muraco gets the small package for two. Muraco picks him up and his injured leg can’t hold him up. Top rope, a Hammer misses and Muraco nails him. Muraco tries a piledriver, his leg collapsed and he missed a splash. The piledriver looked ugly but it made perfect sense since his leg was fucked. Muraco on the comeback with some great punches and clothesline. When he picked up Hammer for his piledriver, the ref got bumped but he hit a perfect tombstone piledriver. Crowd is electric. Hammer hits Muraco with the guard and steals the win. AWESOME MATCH! I was not expecting Hammer vs. Muraco to be my match of the day for my viewing. This was an EASY NOMINATION.

Muraco attacks the shin guard at the bell. I love that because the babyfaces clearly watch the matches & know Valentine is gonna use it as a weapon. Muraco works over Greg's arm & it's awesome. He rams it into the turnbuckle & ringpost. Hammer sells it wonderfully. Muraco hits a shoulderbreaker. Awesome. Muraco has Valentine reeling in the corner but mistakenly does a theatrical twirl for the crowd & gets popped for it. Gorilla calls him out on the unnecessary dancing on commentary. The Hammer is in control now. Greg attacks Don's leg. Good legwork from the Hammer. The sideways piledriver by Muraco because he has a bad leg is tremendous. We get a tremendous strike battle at one point including Gret firing some mean chops. Muraco's sweat is flying everywhere from them in a great visual. Muraco regains control & Greg does some terrific heel flops. There's a ref bump & Muraco just crushes the Hammer with a tombstone. Muraco tries to revive the ref & eats a shot from the shin guard for his troubles. Greg steals the win. Great match. I really liked all of the limb work & Muraco's charisma shined a ton here. Add all of that with the couple of big spots & strong crowd & it's another hidden gem.
