Ted DiBiase vs. Hacksaw Duggan (Meadowlands 9/11/88)
-    When this project first started, I really was hoping there would be a Duggan-DiBiase match on the new set. Starts off with promise as Duggan punches DiBiase in the throat for a nice bump. Left, left, left, left right…. And Ted is sent outside. Duggan still has great punches. An atomic drop sends Ted out again. Duggan is king of the mountain and great spot stomping on Virgil’s hand when he put it on the mat. Duggan yanks Ted back to the apron by the arm, punches him in the ring and hooks a hammerlock and stomps on it. So the big difference from Mid-South is Duggan leaning in to his shtick with the big thumbs up and shouting “Hooooo”. Virgil distracts Duggan and DiBiase attacks. He hits with the table and the rail (which collapses). He then gets posted in the ring post. If this was 1983, Duggan would be covered with blood by now. The crowd is firmly behind him. A Duggan suplex takes out both guys. Both guys fight back and forth in the stretch run. Virgil hitting Duggan outside and chases him in with the 2x4. The ref calls for the DQ. For the Mid-South fans. I will throw this as a MIDDLE NOMINATION but would easily drop it for a better matchup between the two.
