Really cool match, which delivers everything you want from this match up. Heenan gets ejected from ringside early with some amusing bullshit. Andre is working stiff, popping Savage with chops and forearms. Andre gets caught in the ropes. There is a great spot where Savage hits the axehandle which fells Andre like an oak tree. Finish has both guys brawling on the floor and Andre grabbing Liz by the ankle like King Kong, which causes Savage to carry her to the back. Andre wastes the ref post match and looks like a total maniac. I really liked this

This was indeed a lot of fun. The pre-match festivities with Heenan harassing Elizabeth and the crowd going apeshit was great. There's a tremendous pop when he gets ejected before the match even begins because of his bullshit. I liked the layout of this match a good bit. I thought it was worked smartly with Andre's limitations. Andre has the upper hand at first after blindsiding Savage. Savage makes a cool comeback by clotheslining Andre which causes Andre's arms to get locked in the ropes. Savage really lays in on him from there. I enjoyed Andre getting one arm free and chopping the shit out of Savage. The finish was fun too with Savage taking down Andre with an axe handle followed by both guys brawling on the floor. Andre gets a hold of Elizabeth by the ankle and Savage carries her to the back. Andre goes apeshit afterwards and assaults the ref. Rod Trongard and Billy Graham being disgusted by his actions was hilarious too. There's not a lot to this match but it's smartly worked and had tremendous heat. LOW END NOMINATION

This was really well put together, but I didn't think it was anything close to a great match. Having said that I think this has a novel quality to it that could make it really attractive to some. They did a great job working around Andre's physical limitations and the guy still had really good psychology even at that point. Agree that the axe handle spot was awesome. Definitely worth watching, but I'm not sold that it's an essential piece of a future set.

Randy Savage vs. Andre the Giant (MSG 9/29/88)
-    Before the match gets started, Heenan is stalking Liz around the ring. Macho confers with the ref and Heenan is thrown out. This whole moment took over 5 minutes. It was fun but took way too long. Andre must hate Macho Man because he has no problem punching him n the face. Andre is vicious here. Great clubbing spot that flips Macho backwards into the ring. Macho picks up speed and hits a hard clothesline into Andre and Andre gets stuck in the ropes. With Andre on his knees, Macho blasts Andre but Andre is too strong. Andre gives a headbutt that sends Macho to the apron and great camera work getting Liz’s reaction of horror. The crowd goes wild when Savage has the Giant dazed and a big axe handle sends the Giant down. Macho misses the big elbow. Andre grabs Liz’s foot and refuses to let go. Macho attacks and rams him in to the ring post. This ends up a double count out. Macho carries Liz to the back. This was so much fun but the gaga at the beginning took a long time, the ending wasn’t satisfying, and I really wanted some blood after the brawling. LOW END NOMINATION but I want to see more matches from these two.
