Posted June 11Jun 11 comment_6031129 Rick Rude vs. Jake Roberts (No DQ / Finisher Match) (MSG 10/24/88) - Jake starts with the arm lock stuff and the early start from LA. Rude rakes Jake’s eyes and starts leveling Jake. Then Jake rakes Rude’s eyes and starts throwing his patented punches. Nice. Jake missing his short arm and hitting his own clothesline. He then hooks Jake in the ropes and starts stalking Cheryl. Jake attacks from behind and Rude hits a Manhattan drop to stop Jake in his tracks. Rude is slamming Jake’s arm in the post. Jake trying to fight back but Rude punches him down. OK the chinlock stuff here isn’t nearly egregious. Jake counters the first with a hammerlock only to be punched down again. The 2nd one was taunting Cheryl so she could see the pain Jake was in. Jake escapes the hold by turning to face Rude and clawing his back! If we could see blood on the back, this would get bonus points. They did less than two minutes beginning to end of chinlock stuff and there was plenty of movement in between. No complaints. At this point, there are some great spots: Rude shooting Jake’s throat across the ropes; Jake biting Rude’s fingers, brawling on the outside. Jake eventually signals for the DDT and Rude holds on to the ropes for dear life. Rude tries to escape and Jake pulls on Rude’s tights showing his ass… right into a short arm clothesline. The crowd erupts after that move. Rude blocks another DDT attempt and Jake tries a knee lift and his leg is kicked from under him and he lands on his head. HUGE flying fist to Jake’s head. Rude taunts Cheryl and she tries to slap him but blocks her. He goes back to pick up Jake for a slam but he leaps over Rude and hits the DDT for the win. You would have thought the Knicks won the Finals. Cheryl comes in the ring to celebrate. Jake takes out Damian and wraps him around Rude. Amazing finish and payoff to this feud. SLAM DUNK NOMINATION. WE NEED THE PICK YOUR POISON VERSION OR VQ UPGRADE!!!
