Hulk Hogan vs. Killer Khan (Boston 9/12/87)
-    This starts off HOT. Mr. Fuji chokes Hogan with the cane and his feet are upside down. Khan has the world title and since the bell has not rung, he whips Hogan with it. The crowd with a huge HOGAN chant. Immediately, Khan spits the mist into the face of the referee. They don’t DQ Khan but they replace the first referee. Fuji rams the cane into Hogan’s gut on the outside. Come on, give me blood. I’ll even tolerate Doherty. Hogan bumps HUGE for the double throat chop and Khan follows with the thrust kick. Khan misses the big knee and Hulk is back. He unwraps his tape and clotheslines Khan and then chokes him. The ref lets it continue. Wild. Mongolian chop… from Hogan! He tosses Khan outside and the crowd is going wild. He nails Khan with a chair… twice! Hogan gave Khan too much time to recover because Hogan was taunting Fuji. Dammit, Khan’s nerve hold brings this down a notch but it signals Hogan hulking up and the crowd erupts. I thought that was the end but a chop from Khan sends Hogan to the mat. Big flying knee…and Hogan kicks out at one! Mongolian chops have no effect. Khan spews the mist but Hogan catches it in his fist and rubs it in Khan’s face. Leg drop. 123. This needed blood but this was a GREAT match. STRONG NOMINATION. With blood it would have been a classic. I’m also going to come out and say it… this was much better than the Savage match a month later. That’s hard for me to say too.
