IVAN PUTSKI & PAT PATTERSON & TONY ATLAS vs WILD SAMOANS & PETER MAIVIA (2/3 Falls)  (05/19/1980; WWF MSG; New York, NY; 00:23:06)
-    First fall: Pier six brawl, the faces clear the ring and the crowd is erupting. This is another atmosphere match as Putski is in peril and the Samoans abuse him as the crowd rumbles, trying to inspire him to fight back. Ivan tags Tony and Tony is attacking everyone! Then he gets caught up in the numbers game. The crowd is chanting USA for Tony but he is no match for the High Chief. He makes the comeback with dropkicks and tags Patterson. Patterson gets the first fall with an O’Connor Roll on Peter and the place comes unglued. Fucking HUGE reaction.
-    - 2nd fall: High chief is begging off to start. The crow dis really giving it to him. Peter wants a handshake. He tries a low blow punch but misses. Maivia misses a charge in the corner. The crowd is nuts. Fun spot where he is in the wrong corner, then gets a slingshot on the ropes and Tony takes his turn punching Peter. He slingshots Maivia into a Samoan for a nearfall. Maivia turns the tide and he’s now in peril. You’re never going to get me to complain if Pat Patterson works 12 of the first 15 minutes of a six-man tag. The biggest plus so far… no nerve holds or rests… all punishment and brutality. Double Samoan headbutt allows Maivia to fall on Pat for the pin
-    3rd fall: Before the fall, they try to attack Pat before he has regrouped and Atlas fends them off. The ref argues with the faces as the Samoans feast. Patterson crawl though the legs and tags Putski and he and Atlas get huge face reactions. Atlas slam, elbow drop, headbutt and splash for the quick three! Everyone is fighting after the bell with the faces hitting patented moves to huge eruptions. This was so damn fun. If we get a 2/3 Falls match with ZERO rest holds, this is the one. SOLID – STRONG NOMINATION.

IVAN PUTSKI & PAT PATTERSON & TONY ATLAS vs WILD SAMOANS & PETER MAIVIA (2/3 Falls)  (05/19/1980; WWF MSG; New York, NY; 00:23:06)

Tempers are hot before the match even starts, maybe some bad blood lingering from the battle royale.  I liked Maivia’s taunting and evil laughter when in control against Putski. First fall dynamic is really good, the heels are doing their double or triple teams, the crowd is getting behind the faces, Putski with some hope spots until he makes the tag, and both Atlas and Patterson come in with great fire.  Second fall is Maivia trying what he can to turn the tide but not being able to do so. Crowd is along for the ride here. The Samoans finally are able to help Maivia and now Patterson is face in peril. A behind the ref’s back double headbutt allows Maivia to get the pin on Patterson to tie it up. Third fall and Patterson and Maivia are spent. The place comes unglued for the tag to Putski and then for Atlas being tagged in. Atlas makes a pinfall that looked like the pin was broken up and/or the shoulder was up before three, but the ref completed the three count and the bell rings. All six men are fighting in the ring and it looks like the ref waived off the pinfall as the Samoans try to double headbutt Atlas. Tony ducks, the Samoans hit each other and then Atlas hits a crossbody to get the official three count.

Agree that this is a Solid to Strong nomination (the crowd really elevates this) and would be a fun addition to the set.
