Ted bumps like a maniac early including a crazy one to the floor off an atomic drop. Savage works on his shoulder some and it's some pretty intense work. Ted gets on offense with some cheating tactics and works pretty hard afterwards changing things up. We have some good hope spots mixed in and the crowd is hot. The finishing run is solid and the finish is insane with Savage taking a LUDICROUS crotch bump after Virgil pushed him off the top rope. Ted won by count out and we get some fun interviews post-match. This was the first big match of their feud after Mania and I think is definitely something that can go on the set. Solid nomination.
July 10, 201312 yr comment_5550707 This is a solid nomination. Savage goes to town on the arm with some really hard hitting arm work. Ted looks like he's about to turn the tide, but he takes a shoulder bump into the corner. Eventually Dibiase gains control and is really good in his control. Though I hated the fact he shitcanned the shoulder damage . I mean Savage did some inspired arm work . Ted even hits a left handed lariat and doesn't sell like his arm is hurt. The finish was a pretty wow moment with the Savage bump to the floor. Overall some really good stuff mixed in with some head scratching moments.
June 13Jun 13 comment_6031240 Randy Savage vs. Ted DiBiase (MSG 4/25/88) Great start! Macho chases Virgil who got too close to Liz. This gave time for Ted to ambush. They brawl out of the ring but Ted gets posted. Inside, Ted begs off but gets an atomic drop for his troubles. The Garden is insane tonight. Macho keeps yanking the arm on the top rope and ramming his shoulder into the steel post. Everything is so intense. Macho hooks that hammerlock inside. This match has so much life compared to the lifeless Mania match. Ted ha a chance to take over and ram Macho into the barricade. Inside Ted is in control but Macho fights back and gives hope throughout. Onee of my favorites, DiBiase is using the bottom rope to choke Savage. DiBiase brings it down with a chin loc but Savage fights out and rams Ted into the turnbuckle, igniting the crowd. Ted recovers first and misses his 2nd rope back elbow. Macho hits his running choke and the axe handle. A ref bump occurs and Virgil interferes preventing the big elbow. Savage gets crotched on the top rope and crumbles to the outside. This ends in a count out win for Ted. Ted poses with the belt after the match. Savage grabs a chair and clears the ring. Finish was a bummer but the atmosphere helped propel this to SOLID NOMINATION.
