Posted June 15Jun 15 comment_6031339 Hulk Hogan & Bam Bam Bigelow vs. Ted DiBiase & Virgil (MSG 1/25/88) - The faces are destroying the heels and the crowd is loving every single second. DiBiase is down and he drops an elbow on Ted for good measure and knocks Virgil off the apron. Hogan goes for an Irish whip and Andre trips him up. Now DiBiase attacks. With the ref distracted, Andre attacks Hogan too. Virgil joins the fun and does a trop rope fist drop on Hogan. Andre chokes Hogan on the outside again. Now Ted does a second rope axe handle. DiBiase chops Hogan all the way over the top rope. That was sort of corny in its overselling. Andre just tosses Hogan inside like he’s a little boy. Virgil is such a bad wrestler that I get nervous when he is in the ring but he keeps it simple. Choking, punches, throat thrusts. Good job Virgil. DiBiase drops the falling fist drops I mark out for. Hogan battles out of a chin lock working the crowd intoa frenzy and then there is a double knockout leading to the hot tag to Bam Bam which makes the crowd EXPLODE! Bam Bam does an impressive gorilla slam and when DiBiase tries to drop an elbow, Bam Bam moves. Then Hogan drops the leg followed by a Bam Bam splash. The whole sequence was awesome. Andre comes in and the heels destroy Hogan and Bigelow. Bam Bam dropkicks Andre down and out. Hogan throws chairs in to the ring and they keep the heels out as the crowd is apeshit. Fucking apeshit. EASY NOMINATION for everyone doing their part, no 1988 Hogan no selling Hulk ups, and an electric crowd.
June 24Jun 24 comment_6031763 This has mega heat. Hogan & Bam Bam decimate DiBiase. The crowd is going nuts. Hogan stepping on Ted to call Virgil in the ring is awesome. Andre as the equalizer at ringside for the heels is terrific. Hogan has a long FIP section & it's really good. DiBiase hits a great clothesline. Hogan has a more standard comeback & he collides with Ted on a double clothesline. Bam Bam destroys Virgil off the hot tag. At one point he nearly takes Virgil's head off with a clothesline. Lots of great clotheslines in this. Hogan & Bam Bam crush Virgil with a leg drop/splash combo for the win. DiBiase trying to save the match only to immediately beg off from a charging Hogan is AMAZING. Great capture of that moment by the camera. Andre instantly comes in after the bell & all hell breaks loose. Andre kicks ass & is an angry giant. Hogan & Bam Bam retreat to the floor & Hogan begins LAUNCHING CHAIRS INTO THE RING TO BAM BAM. Holy shit, that rules. Andre has to be held back by Ted & Virgil. This has RIDICULOUS heat. Really good match with a must-see post-match. STRONG to EASY NOMINATION (Match is STRONG NOM. Post-match puts it to EASY)
