The Philly version is actually a very good match in its own right and can be found on dailymotion. It certainly added to my enjoyment of this match which was a rematch where the DQ rule was waived meaning that the title could change hands on a disqualification. This leads to Heenan and Orndorff trying to goad Hogan into getting himself disqualified, including a great spot where Heenan throws a chair on Hogan and Orndorff tries to taunt Hogan into hitting him. Orndorff's brawling isn't quite as good as the Piper feud (his punches keep slapping Hogan's shoulder), but the intensity matches the Piper feud and this is another of those great 10 minute Hogan brawls we keep discovering.
June 16Jun 16 comment_6031346 Hulk Hogan vs. Paul Orndorff (Philly 10/18/86) - The stipulation is that the title can change hand on a Hogan DQ. Orndorff cannot be DQed. Wow! Orndorff ambushes Hogan as he gets in the ring. Heenan throws Orndorff’s robe over Hogan as Orndorff attacks. Orndorff takes Hogan’s t-shirt and chokes him. He then gets the world title belt and starts whipping him. Amazing. Hogan on his feet and it’s a slugfest. Now Hogan is choking Orndorff with his headband! And Heenan gets on the ring and gets a punch for his troubles. Heenan hands Hogan a chair and Orndorff dares Hogan to hit him. Hogan drops the chair and nails Paul., Paul takes a powder. Hogan is arguing with the ref about the chair but Orndorff ambushes him. Orndorff is vicious in this match. Orndorff rams Hogan into the railing and is thrusting his knees in Hogan’s back. Because he can. Paul hits Hogan with a chair to his face. Hogan is now bleeding. Orndorff hit a piledriver but Hogan fell out of the ring. Hogan is a mess. Orndorff is arguing with the ref allowing Hogan to regroup. Paul with a backbreaker but Hogan kicks out and hulks up. Hogan had a leg drop but threw Paul outside and teased a chair shot. Hogan gives chase to Heenan who goes in the ring. The ref argues with Heenan so Hogan gives Orndorff the chair shot behind the ref’s back and Paul gets counted out. That was a clever finish. EASY NOMINATION. This might be the best non-cage match in the feud. It started hot and never let up.
