Posted November 22, 200717 yr comment_5424353 This is from Houston, and Watts is pretending this is Shiek coming in from the WWF. We get some cool Muga from Shiek including some neck bridges. Then Sheik starts bumping like a freak, flying over the top rope from a atomic drop and taking a Psicosis corner bump so hard he breaks the ring. Not a ton of Sheik offense, but Reed totally ruled and the crowd was super into this. I am nominating it.
November 22, 200717 yr comment_5424354 Phil, this was the match I was referring to in an earlier chat, not Shiek-Santana or Dibiase-Santana or whatever it was.
November 22, 200717 yr comment_5424365 Phil didn't mention this but Shiek was awesome bumping around for Reed's offense giving the high-impact moves that extra Oomph! Once again, we have Mid South match with a broken ring rope. Why in the hell didn't they fire the guy responsible for those things??? Anyway, this is an easy nomination but more mid-level than high-level.
December 10, 200717 yr comment_5425048 It was always great to hear Watts bury the WWF. Reed was awesome here as he was really hitting his peak as a wrestler. Sheik was a great opponent for Reed and they had worked together for a few months prior to this in Georgia so they had a rapport. I loved the early homage to MUGA as Sheik was really a good mat wrestler but isn't known that much for it. Sheik hitting the post with the second rope breaking was an awesome spot. Reed's comeback was great and the finish was solid. This moves forward.
