Posted June 25Jun 25 comment_6031769 The Brainbusters vs. Demolition (2/3 Falls) (SNME 7/29/89) - Demolition Interview. - 1st Fall: Tully bounces like a pinball for the Demolition Ax got caught in the heel corner and fights but in a great spot, Tully whips Ax for an Arn clothesline that is reversed, stops from hitting his own partner but gets nailed by Smash anyway. Busters have to regroup. Hot start. Arn gets in and he is awesome getting his ass kicked. His facial expressions when Smash choked him and when Smash caught his leg and pushed him back. Then he barley misses a tag and sells like a madman for the double clobbering in Demolition’s corner. Tully comes in and he gets caught in the bear hug. He tagged Arn right back in. Great move where Tully dropkicks Arn into Smash. Part of my problem with this match is that Arn and Tully are not supposed to be on the same page. This is happening but the story is getting in the way off a great match instead of just being part of the match. Arn gets a nice spinebuster on Darsow. Arn and Tully try a double clothesline. Ax grabs Tully’ s hair and yanks him down so that Smash can give Arn a stun gun for the pin. I loved this first fall. - 2nd fall: Demolition offense and the chin locks. Oh well, lol. You can tell Darsow was putting in work because most of his make up is melted off. Tully comes in with anger. Stomping a mudhole, choking, slingshot on the bottom rope. Busters double team Ax and Heenan gets a slap in for good measure. Ax fights Tully off with a big club and Smash gets a big tag. Arn & Tully bumping huge. Huge military press on Tully, Bobby rammed to the post Demolition set up Decapitation. Brainbusters get the 2nd fall with a disqualification. I have no idea how. Weird ending and the chinlock heavy parts of the 2nd fall hurt this match. - 3rd fall: Starts off with a big spot where Tully rams Ax into Arn’s head. Arn is still woozy coming in. Smash comes in and cleans house. The roof is exploding. Nice try with the top rope clothesline even though the execution was wonky. Andre throws in a chair and the Brainbusters got the belts. I loved this match. The Brainbusters bumped huge for everything. They took normal offense and made it spectacular. STRONG NOMINATION - Brainbusters celebrate after the match with the Heenan family.
