Posted June 26Jun 26 comment_6031796 Demolition vs. Can-Am Connection (Tunney Memorial; Toronto 3/15/87) - No ambush this time. Match was quiet until a double dropkick from the Can-Ams. Can-Ams control early with quick tags and arm work. Best line of the night, from Jimmy Hart “Telephone. Telegraph. Tell a Gorilla Monsoon.” Ax tried a chin lock (of course he did) and Zenk reversed it quickly into a hammer lock. Martel takes over but he gets thrown to the heel corner and then clobbered while Johnny V distracts. Demolition are kings of the mountain and Martel has some nice hope spots. Good double team work and distraction during the face in peril. Nasty missed headbutt from Ax and Martel makes the hot tag. I just noticed, Tom Zenk does not have great strikes. He did run into the ring post like a boss though. Demolition win by count out. MUCH BETTER than the horrible Bulldogs match. Can-Ams are really great at generating responses from the crowd and Demolition didn’t lock on the rest holds during the heat. LOW END NOMINATION.
