Posted June 26Jun 26 comment_6031813 Ron Bass vs. Lanny Poffo (London, Ontario House 3/16/87) - Leaping Lanny Poffo Poetry EXTRA. - Low start with Lanny hooking in a headlock. First whip and Lanny punches Bass in the face. 2nd whip and Lanny does a cartwheel and then punches Bass in the face. 3rd headlock, Lanny backed in the corner, Bass misses a punch and Lanny punches him in the face again. This match isn’t active but it’s fun. 4th whip. Leapfrog. Punch. I love this. Poffo back flip reverses an arm bar and Poffo works the arm. Back in the corner, Bass beats him up and takes over. Then slingshots his throat off the top rope and then posts him on the ring post. Damn, Bass attacks Poffo and Poffo goes over the railing. Lanny gets in a punching contest with Bass and loses. Whipped again and Lanny gets punched in the face. Lanny being choked by the tag rope. Bass chokes Poffo and give shim the kitchen sink. He pins but picks him up at 1. He pins after an elbow drop but Poffo kicks out at 2. Lanny fighting back with more punches. Bass knocks him down with a lame clothesline. He is NOT King Kong Bundy. Bass punishes Lanny with an ab stretch and knee choke. Lanny fights back again but a big knee to the face keeps him down. Two swinging neck breakers by Bass and a 2 count. Bass is choking the life out of Poffo. Poffo fights back again, gets him off his feet and gets a flipping senton for two. Reverse cradle for two. LAME weak 2nd rope splash for two. God that looked like shit lol. Bass pulls Poffo out of the ring to save himself. Back inside, Lanny knocks Bass down and does the moonsault for two. Bass recovers with a back elbow for three. LOW END NOMINATION. There were some clear flaws but enough fun stuff to move this forward, I have sat through Bass matches where he sits the entire match so this was a breath of fresh air.
