Posted June 26Jun 26 comment_6031817 DORY FUNK JR. & TERRY FUNK vs TITO SANTANA & JUNKYARD DOG (04/07/1986; WWF WrestleMania II PPV; 00:16:19) - Funk throws chairs into the ring right away. Huge JYD chant right away. Dory starts with his European uppercuts. Dog whips Dory into Terry. Body slams for both and Tito hits Terry with a forearm. Funks are outside to regroup. Tito and Terry inside and Terry laying in the hard chops. Funk on the ropes gets a crazy ax bomber to send Terry down and then dropkicks to send Hoss out. Damn!!! That forearm shot was nasty. That would have legit knocked Inoki out. Dog and Funk square off. Just like the singles matches, Funk is shadow boxing and JYD lands a nasty punch in the mush. He does the head slamming in the different turnbuckles to please the fans. Damn, Terry is a one-man circus. Hoss and Tito inside and Tito hits the flying forearm but Terry breaks up the pin. Tito starts punching Terry. On a crisscross, Tito gets a knee in the back and the Funks take over. They fight over a suplex and Tito reverses and both men are down. Double noggin knocker and both are down again. Terry was lucky to be in the corner. Hoss and Terry still in control. JYD gets the hot tag and the crowd erupts. Big clothesline on Terry. Huge punch knocks Hoss down. Terry is choking JYD with a rope then Terry does a HUGE bump over the rope. Outside, JYD headbutts Hoss and Terry slammed on a table and chairs. That was wild!!! I don’t remember any of that. JYD goes over Jimmy Hart and slaps him silly. Hoss breaks up a JYD small package attempt. JYD goes after Hoss but the ref is messing with Tito. Jimmy tosses Terry the megaphone and JYD gets pinned by Terry. STRONG NOMINATION. I think this is criminally under-rated. Such a smart and wild match.
