Posted June 27Jun 27 comment_6031848 BRUTUS BEEFCAKE & GREG VALENTINE vs BRITISH BULLDOGS (10/12/1985; WWF Boston Garden; 00:23:37) Bulldogs control with t headlock on Beefcake and tag in and out. DK uses his speed to get a cross body for two and then use his movement to escape a wrist lock and get his own and then tag Davey for a hammer on the arm. They continue their arm work and wrist locks on both Hammer and Beefcake. The Bulldogs work a hammerlock on Brutus and they are punishing that arm. Every time you think the heels have turned the corner, the Bulldogs have an answer. Great counter by Hammer with a back breaker as Davey was holding his arm. Now DK Is in trouble. The heels keep using the 5 count to double team DK and ram him in the corner. Great teaming! Brutus has a bear hug on DK after smashing him in the corner 5 times. DK rallying the crowd. They double ram him again. That didn’t come out right. Oops. Hammer headbutt to the stomach. Hammer starts attacking the legs. Beefcake in and they do a wish bone. Brutus show boats and allows DK to regroup and get a snap suplex. Still can’t get the hot tag. DK fights off the figure 4. He kicks him on the side of the head and Hammer bumps for it face first. Shoulder breaker and a tag. No count. Brutus suplex gets two. Hammer leg sweep for two. Valentine is doing the finger-lock bridging pin. DK bridges as Hammer attempts pin after pin. The knees come up (which we see all the time) and DK is still in trouble as Brutus attacks. Really solid face in peril here. The crowd is with the Kid. Double clothesline didn’t look as good as it should. Hammer holds a cravate and misses an elbow drop and another and the hot tag to Davey! Davey cleans house. One legged top-rope dropkick from Davey… umn let DK do that shit. Powerslam gets two. Beefer broke it up. Pin attempt after pin attempt broken up. Sunset flip for two and the crowd bit HARD for that one. All hell breaks loose. Bulldog press slam onto Beefcake for the pin. Ref is distracted. Hammer drops a Hammer on DK and allows Beefcake to get the pin. This was their first major house show match we have on tape and they were already great together. STRONG NOMINATION. This is by far one of the best tag team feuds the WWF had in the 80s.
