Posted July 3Jul 3 comment_6032175 Demolition vs. Killer Bees (2/3 Falls) (Houston 10/9/87) 1st Fall: Doherty is testing my patience. Itpicks up when the Bees are on offense but Demolition are doing nice jobs countering even as the Bees work the arm. Loved Smash picking Brunzell up and putting him up on the turnbuckle and then picking Blair up and carrying him to the corner. It feels like the Demos are in rest hold mode but the Bees aren’t having it early. Really quick break outs of the rest holds. Blair starts kicking the leg of Ax and the Bees attack the leg with gusto. This small Houston crowd appreciates it. Blair goes for a 2nd rope splash but Ax gets his legs up, hits Blair with the knees, sells the leg and gets the first fall. I don’t know if I love the move that caused the pin but love the way they did it. Great start! 2nd Fall: The Bees pick up with the leg work on Ax. The Bees are dumb for letting Ax escape and tagging Smash. Smash and Blair start firing away on each other. Blair tags Jim when he was up on an atomic drop, Smash turns around and gets tagged with the Brunzell dropkick. 3rd Fall: Brunzell gets off to a fast start and immediately attacks and hooks the sleeper on Smash. Smash does the smart play again ramming Jim in the heel corner. Ax makes the mistakje of tagging in and Jim going for the leg. Ax cannot stand. He was close enough to tag back to Smash but he tags in Blair. Blair corner charge meets knee. Smash and Ax are double teaming Blair but Ax is hurt. Finally, 20 minutes in, Smash hooks the nerve hold. Blair doesn’t rest for long though so A+ for that. Ax clobber Blair but Blair gets a small package for two. Smash back in with his nerve hold. Ax back in with the neck crank. Nice block of the hot tag as Ax has Blair’s leg hooked and Smash drops the big elbow. Blair comes off the ropes with a flying forearm and both men are down. Ref didn’t see the hot tag. Smash rams himself into the corner; Ax misses an elbow drop and Jim gets the tag to a pop. Clothesline gets a 1 count. Dropkick on Ax is broken up. All 4 men in the ring. Cane to the throat of Brunzell and Demos win the match. Finish sucked. Commentary sucked. Match ruled. STRONG NOMINATION.
