Posted July 3Jul 3 comment_6032177 Sensational Sherri Martel vs. Velvet McIntyre (Paris 10/23/87) - Velvet starts off hot and a one-legged drop kick makes Sherri regroup. Sherri on the apron and Velvet flips her back in the ring. Velvet gets two slingshots. Sherri regroups. ON the ropes, Sherri hits Velvet with a forearm when she should have broke cleanly. Velvet sends Sherri down with one of her own. First 5 minutes have been all Velvet. Sherri starts pulling the hair in snapmare and uses it to whip her across the ring. Sherri poking the eyes, raking the back. Velvet gets Sherri off her feet, gets her in the Boston Crab and then stops, gets on Sherri and just pulls her hair and rms her face in the mat over and over. Velvet hooks Sherri in her leg scissors. She does the rolling scissors and pin but ref doesn’t count it. Sherri picks Velvet up by her hair while in the leg scissors and drops her. NICE. Now it is Sherri torture time. Standing on Velvet’s hair. Pulling her by the hair and slamming her in the buckle WHILE IN A TREE OF WOE. Velvet gets a nice sunset flip off the top for two. Velvet comeback but Sherri jabs her fingers in the eye to stop the comeback. Sherri gets a flapjack and it always looks nasty. OK, Sherri got lost when whipping Velvet in the corner. This match is falling apart. Velvet got a sunset flip and Sherri just puts her knee on the chest and the ref does not count. Weird. Velvet’s offense looks good but Sherri is lost. Velvet does a giant swing on Sherri. Velvet misses a cross body from the 2nd rope but does get a running cross body but Sherri rolls through for three. I was all set to call this an EASY NOMINATION but the sloppiness at the end really dropped it on a set this loaded. I will go for SOLID NOMINATION but they just couldn’t bring it home.
