Man I couldn't disagree with Kris more. Sure this was a formula match on the R+R's part, but Rock and Roll formula is so much better then Fantastics formula. Plus you had the Freebirds busting out insane looking offense for 85, German suplexes, diving knees, huge clotheslines. I mean this was almost what a Steiners v. Rock and Roll match would have looked like. Plus that finish was fucking sick, as Gordy basically ganso bombs Gibson, sure as fuck looked like a finish to me. Totally blew away the MX v. Fans match, and I think this is a slam dunk level nomination

The finish didn't help either as Gibson landed more on the knees than the mat but that can be chalked up to not working the Birds often. I think this may have been the 2nd time they were ever in a match together with Hayes & Roberts as the other known one not counting the 4-way.

Dude that finish was nasty looking, that was as sick as any of the Taras Bulba piledrivers. It adds, not subtracts to the match

At times this felt more like a JCP RnR match than the Midsouth ones as during the FIP section you almost didn't think the RNR stood a chance at all. That said I liked this alot as both faces got time eating stuff and trying to make saves and Terry gordy was just a destructive force. I'm not exactly sure what Kris thought was wrong with the way Gibson ate the finish as it looked like he was practically ganso bombed. Awkwardly eating a powerbomb onto Gordys knees to wear it looked like a completely unprotected headdrop I thought made for a crazy dramatic finish. No way can he get saved now.
