“Mad Dog” Buzz Sawyer vs. Mike Boyette (4/5/87)

Funny watching the fans hug Buzz and he wins easily.

Terry Taylor vs. Gary Young (4/5/87)

Taylor is mobbed by women on his way to the ring. Young thinking the fans still love him is great. Taylor is on his way to victory when Steiner & Sting tries to jump Taylor and he scoots out the ring.

Chris Adams is cutting a promo about alcohol being terrible when Hot Stuff International jumps him and leaves him laying.

“Dr. Death” Steve Williams vs. The Super Ninja (Ryuma Go) (4/5/87)

Squash. I was wrong about Ninja BTW as it is Ryuma Go not Kengo Kimura.

UWF TV Title: “Hot Stuff” Eddie Gilbert © vs. Sam Houston (4/5/87)

Gotta love Gilbert wearing the Pro Wrestling This Week t-shirt. This started out in a solid wrestling match with both men trading holds and the advantage. Gilbert & Houston would hit each other with a clothesline after Gilbert had sent Houston to the floor then worked on him for a bit. Gilbert would get up first and delivered a beautiful backdrop suplex but couldn’t follow up due to being tired. Houston hit an awesome looking reverse neckbreaker that looked like it was headed for an inside cradle. Houston would then suplex Gilbert but he landed right on his neck before they got into a slugfest that Gilbert was selling punches like Flair. Houston would signal for the bulldog but Gilbert hit the referee on purpose to get DQed. I usually don’t like screwjob finishes but for Gilbert’s chickenshit character at this time it made perfect sense. This was a really fun match and I’m throwing it up as a low-end candidate.

“Gentleman” Chris Adams vs. Angel of Death (4/5/87)

TV time runs out during the intros. What a crock that is.

John Ayers is announced as the new commissioner of the UWF at the Muskogee Civic Center in Muskogee, Oklahoma.

UWF Heavyweight Title: One Man Gang © vs. Big Bubba Rogers (4/19/87)

And so it beings kinda with the battle of the Twin Towers. Gang is on his way out to WWF and Bubba has come in. Bubba takes an insane bump over the top rope to the floor where he banged the railing on the way out. Gang really took it to Bubba to start the match and Bubba even bladed. Bubba working babyface is pretty wild here. Gang would go for a nearfall that Gang would jump in the air after the kickout and rolled to the floor. Bubba doing the enzuigiri is fucking insane he is really channeling Bigelow here. Gang is bleeding so we have double juice. Akbar shows up at ringside after a commercial break and at this point of the match both men have blown up big time but Bubba hit a swank headbutt followed up with a big boot to the face by Gang. Gang would miss the 747 splash from the middle rope but Bubba would hit his big splash from the top rope to win the title. This started out awesomely but it just slowed down at the end. The crowd going nuts for Bubba is great. I don’t know about this one as far as nomination, I want Phil & Tom to watch this one.

They show highlights from the Omni with Adams/Taylor losing their UWF Tag Titles to Steiner & Sting at The Omni. Taylor would kick Adams’ foot off the rope by accident on a pinfall attempt causing them to lose the titles. This was the spark to start the heel turn.

“Gentleman” Chris Adams & Terry Taylor vs. Bob Bradley & The Red Devil (4/19/87)

Squash. Taylor wanting the pin after Adams hit a Superkick flush to the Devil is great.

Steve Cox vs. The Super Ninja (4/19/87)

Poor Ninja has to job again to Cox.

Chavo Guerrero vs. Mike Boyette (4/19/87)

Boyette continues his jobbing streak.

Rick Steiner & Sting vs. Jeff Raitz & Mike Reed (4/19/87)

Squash.

Akbar announces in the locker room that he has fired One Man Gang and is the new manager of Big Bubba Rogers.
