UWF Tag Titles Tournament – Quarterfinals: Ted DiBiase & “Dr. Death” Steve Williams vs. Eli the Eliminator & Bill Irwin (2/7/87)

DiBiase & Doc looked really good here but the others weren’t up to their level although they weren’t bad. This had quite the ending with DiBiase trying to powerslam Eli but dropped him right on his head and hooking the leg for the 3-count.

UWF Tag Titles Tournament – Quarterfinals: “Gentleman” Chris Adams & Iceman King Parsons vs. The Fabulous Freebirds (Michael “PS” Hayes & Buddy Roberts) (2/7/87)

Adams returns to the UWF after serving his time and coming into this match he had only been out of jail for 2 days. Adams looks in great shape and also really sharp here considering he has been out of action for about 3 months. Adams also looked great for the hot tag as he dominated both Birds and after Hayes was accidentally dropkicked off the middle rope by Buddy, Adams popped Buddy with a Superkick and covered Hayes for the win. Adams was the focal point of this match and looked good.

Adams & Parsons then do an interview where Adams talks about being excited he is out of jail taking questions from “reporters” regarding why he went to jail and the like.

UWF Tag Titles Tournament – Semifinals: “Gentleman” Chris Adams & Iceman King Parsons vs. Ted DiBiase & “Dr. Death” Steve Williams (2/7/87)

Before the match Akbar baits DiBiase into attacking him, which he does and sends him to the floor. The match started out good before Devastation Inc. showed up and jumped DiBiase then brawled with Doc. Adams tried to go out and help but Iceman held him back until he finally got out there to help. Iceman is in the ring angry but they still win the match by countout. Adams & Parsons have their breakup after the match with them saying they want to have a different partner in the finals.

UWF TV Title: Savannah Jack © vs. Mike Boyette (2/7/87)

Pretty much a squash.

Sam Houston vs. Ken Massey (2/7/87)

Competitive match.

UWF Tag Titles Tournament – Quarterfinals: Rick Steiner & Sting vs. Chavo Guerrero & The Missing Link (2/7/87)

Steiner & Sting look really good as a team, Chavo looks good of course, and Link is Link. The match was starting to get going when the shitty DQ finish goes down.

Steel Cage Match for the UWF Heavyweight Title: One Man Gang © vs. Hacksaw Duggan (1/10/87)

This was a dark match taped after a PPW taping but they show this here as Duggan has left for WWF. It is JIP but doesn’t look too far in. Both men are throwing bombs at the beginning and Duggan is getting the upper hand then slings Gang through the ropes to the floor against the cage. Duggan stomping on Gang’s fingers was a nice touch. Gang begs for mercy and gets none with Duggan biting his head then trying to bite referee Edward Faulk. Duggan would hit a big clothesline but would miss his spear and ran head first into the cage. Gang hits the 747 and pins Duggan clean. Wow what an anticlimatic finish sayonara Duggan.

Okay now we finally have the finish to this match from Bollom #13

Badstreet Match: Ted DiBiase & “Dr. Death” Steve Williams vs. The Fabulous Freebirds (Terry “Bamm Bamm” Gordy & Michael “PS” Hayes) (1/9/87)

This is from Houston and we will get the whole match I hope. The Birds are dressed in their jeans as that is the rules for this but DiBiase/Doc come out in full wrestling gear, which surprised me. It’s a brawl at the bell as all four men just beat the piss out of each other. DiBiase was throwing some tremendous punches here with his taped fists. Doc & Gordy come in and they have a great exchange with the highlight being Doc basically deadlifting Gordy in a German Suplex. Hayes starts hitting Doc with his boot and that turns the tide of the match with Williams taking a beating trying to make the hot tag, which he gets after Gordy accidentally hits Hayes. DiBiase comes in and cleans house and the 4-way brawl is on but Gordy starts working on DiBiase’s neck to slow the match back down. Gordy tries to hit his modified piledriver on DiBiase but Doc runs in and breaks that up. DiBiase gets the hot tag as TV time starts to run out with Paul Boesch promising the remainder of the match on the next show, which we don’t have.

This episode of PPW picks up where we left off with Angel of Death coming in the ring after DiBiase starts cleaning house with the hot tag and it’s a big brawl. DiBiase & Doc clear the ring out but Gordy would come in with a steel chair and started swinging like a madman even smashing Tommy Gilbert. Gordy is insane here just hitting everyone with the chair. Will what do you think regarding this because if this is melded together then we have an easy nomination.
