Posted December 8, 200717 yr comment_5424884 Ric Flair vs. Harley Race (Cage match) - This is one of those matches you have to include but it isn't one of my favorite matches from either guy. You had the obligatory blood, great moves from both guys and the focus on the bad leg but I think the match may have gone too long. Cut ten minutes form it, lose Angelo Mosca as ref and this match becomes so much better. I'll nominate it and we'll include it but I am not excited about it.
December 17, 200717 yr comment_5425434 Gene Kiniski was the ref, Mosca was the ref for the tag titles match. I'm with Will here in that this isn't their best match but it is a very historical match as this was the main event of the first big show by JCP that could've been a huge bomb. I wonder what Race's mindset was here since he had just been offered a shitload of money by Vince to come to the WWF with the NWA title. There was great crowd heat here and Flair juiced but Kiniski wasn't a really good ref. The cute thing about the finish was that Flair hit the move that he never hits as a heel that would become a big spot for him 20 years later. This definitely moves forward.

July 15, 201411 yr comment_5612871 This has to go on. The match was real methodical, because of that it was real easy to follow the story of the match. Race was tremendous working the neck and the cut. Finish was pretty shitty though. Low-end nomination.
