Posted December 9, 200717 yr comment_5424930 Ricky Steamboat vs. Lex Luger - Usually I shit on a DQ finish but this was the best DQ finish I can think of. The match was also pretty good although below the level of Steamer's matches with Flair and Funk from the same year. Another nomination.

He's probably had better matches, but I don't think I can point to any and say he had a better performance than he had here. The way they worked around Steamboat refusing to job the day of the show probably resulted in a better match than there would have been otherwise, just because Steamboat is a better wrestler than brawler, and the whole match layout of a heel making efforts to get DQ'd after throwing a temper tantrum about the No DQ stip is great. Yes vote.
August 26, 201411 yr comment_5621350 This is a solid nomination. Steamer was great at selling. Luger though was so tremendous here. He focused his attack on the back. Worked the crowd like no one else's business. A super fun DQ.
