Mid-Atlantic Championship Wrestling 5/31/86

This starts with promos from Bull, Garvin, & Valiant about the war with Paul Jones' Army.

"Gorgeous" Jimmy Garvin vs. Todd Champion (5/27/86)

Well they gave Champion a win last week so now he gets Garvin and he jobs in less than a minute....that win the week before made no sense.

Tony Schiavone joined Bob Caudle next talking about Ricky Morton getting his face messed up again by the Horsemen.

Then we get a promo from Jones and his Army.

RnR then come out for a promo with Morton all bruised and bandaged up promising revenge for his broken nose.

The Midnight Express ("Loverboy" Dennis Condrey & "Beautiful" Bobby Eaton) vs. David Dillenger & Mike Simani (5/27/86)

MX squash these guys but the big story here is the debut of Big Bubba Rogers at ringside.

Next we get a promo from Flair in a locker room gloating about breaking Morton's nose.

Chief Wahoo McDaniel vs. Bill Mulkey (5/27/86)

One chop and that's it.

Corny is out next with Big Bubba for a promo where he introduces him properly.

Robert Gibson vs. Gene Ligon (5/27/86)

Gibson is working singles because Morton's nose is broken. Gibson wins this in like 30 seconds after a fucking suplex in 1986.

Next we get promos from Corny, Koloffs, & Arn about the 7/1 Veterans Stadium show.

Dusty & Baby Doll are out next for a promo about everything that's going on and Dusty is extra pissed at the Russians for their attack on Magnum.

Tully Blanchard & "Mr. Electricity" Steve Regal vs. Rocky Kernodle & George South (5/27/86)

ugh.....Steve Regal.....I never understood why they linked him with Tully Blanchard Enterprises at the time. The jobbers got a bit of offense in on Tully not Regal which made no sense.

Next we get promos from Valiant & Magnum for the 7/1 Veterans Stadium show.

Ivan & Krusher then cut a promo on Magnum, Dusty, & Roadies.

"Russian Nightmare" Nikita Koloff vs. Tony Zane (5/27/86)

I love Tony Zane's UGA pullover he wore to the ring but he took it off and got destroyed.

Corny & Bubba are back out again for Corny to talk more shit on Dusty.

Championship Wrestling 5/31/86

Cornette runs out to start the show talking about how he had a big surprise coming which he hopes it's Big Bubba and of course it was.

The Midnight Express ("Loverboy" Dennis Condrey & "Beautiful" Bobby Eaton) vs. Rocky Kernodle & George South (5/24/86)

Rocky & South are pesky but the MX don't let them get shine for long and they take care of them easily while Cornette buries Baby Doll on commentary.

David & Tony talk about how America's Team wasn't going to be on the show this morning because of what happened at the press conference which will air that night.

Ric Flair is out next and he apologized for his wet hair since he just got out of the shower which was great but he said that he looked better than everyone else's husbands. Flair said that he only hangs around champions and then goes into his dress code for his allies. Extra material.

Chief Wahoo McDaniel vs. Mike Simani (5/24/86)

Simani takes some punishment here.

Garvin & Precious are out next for a promo saying that he is tired of beating on Wahoo and he wants bigger things. Garvin then tells Flair that he has the best hair in wrestling.

Baron Von Raschke vs. Italian Stallion (5/24/86)

Paul Jones again would throw the black glove to Baron who used it for the Iron Claw pinfall.

Thunderfoot vs. Tony Zane (5/24/86)

This is a cool match and two of my favorite underneath guys going at it. Basically a spotlight match for both men that Thunderfoot wins.

Ronnie Garvin is out next for a promo and he said that he can do whatever he wants to Tully now and claim insanity for it.

Valiant comes out next for a promo talking about his how the haircut effected his pride and talked about shaving Whatley who was in the ring at the time.

The Barbarian & Teijho Khan vs. Bill & Randy Mulkey (5/24/86)

Mulkey's get destroyed here as Whatley cuts a promo on Valiant during the match.

Next we get a promo from Steve Regal who says that he is here to make a name for himself to close the show.

World Championship Wrestling 5/31/86

Dusty & Baby Doll start the show talking about Flair, MX, & Cornette.

"Ragin Bull" Manny Fernandez & Hector Guerrero vs. Bob OWens & Thunderfoot (5/31/86)

Thunderfoot looks badass here in his white & gold outfit but that doesn't help him get a win as the Mexicans look great.

Arn is out next for a promo talking about he wants challengers for the NWA World TV Title and promised his "cousin" Ole is coming back soon for revenge. I think this was the first time that they said they were cousins.

Then we get the clips of Flair "breaking" Morton's nose and we get a promo from the RnR afterwards with Morton looking terrible and he is fired up. Extra material.

Chief Wahoo McDaniel vs. Vernon Deaton (5/31/86)

Wahoo lays another beating here and Steve Regal comes out during the match saying that Wahoo better be careful at all times.

Next we get the Magnum/Nikita press conference and of course it's a definite extra.

Shaska Whatley vs. Bill Mulkey (5/31/86)

Easy win for Shaska and on commentary Baron said that Whatley was a mole the whole time for Paul Jones which is a great narrative.

Flair comes out next showing off his custom suit before ripping on Morton where he brought out some child's bikini saying that is Morton's style. Definite extra.

Tully & Dillon are out next talking about Garvin getting knocked out at Norfolk Scope on 5/23/86 during his taped fist match with Leo Burke. Tully is out there wearing a sling which he takes off and KO's Garvin with his taped fist. Extra material.

The Midnight Express ("Loverboy" Dennis Condrey & "Beautiful" Bobby Eaton) vs. Brodie Chase & Art Pritts (5/31/86)

Big Bubba makes his TBS debut here watching the MX destroy these guys while Cornette is great on commentary then on the promo afterwards talking about the fake James Boys from World Wide Wrestling. Baby Doll then comes out and dares Cornette to get in the ring with her at the Bash which he accepts. Extra material.

Garvin & Precious are out next ripping on Baby Doll and Wahoo.

The Rock n Roll Express (Robert Gibson & Ricky Morton) vs. David Dillenger & Paul Garner (5/31/86)

This goes a few seconds before a Double Dropkick.

Next we get a promo from the Koloffs where Ivan rips David Crockett for his comments on Nikita from last week then they celebrate about what they did to Magnum at the press conference.

The Barbarian & Baron Von Raschke vs. Italian Stallion & Rocky King (5/31/86)

Stallion & King get some shots in but they would soon be dominated as Whatley cuts a promo during the beatdown.

Then we get the Bob Geigel promo about Flair defending his title 14 times in 30 days during the Bash.

"Hands of Stone" Ronnie Garvin vs. Kent Glover (5/31/86)

Mr. Torture is here but he means business today and KO's him quickly to win.

Cornette comes out next whining about Baby Doll's challenge to close the show.

World Wide Wrestling 6/7/86

This is the debut of the new World Wide Wrestling music and I shed a tear because the old WWW theme was one of the best themes ever. The reason why they changed it is because WWW & the new NWA Pro show were in stereo now.

David & Tony spoil the US Title change to start the show because it hadn't aired yet on WTBS.

Wahoo then comes out with his strap and he is pissed about being attacked by Garvin & Regal on the NWA Pro tapings that night.

"Mr. Electricity" Steve Regal vs. Italian Stallion (6/3/86)

The fans chant for Wahoo like crazy but he doesn't come out. Regal doesn't have it easy here as Stallion gives as good as he gets with the fans going nuts but Regal would finish him off with the Russian Legsweep to win.

Garvin & Regal then cut a celebration promo afterwards about their beatdown of Wahoo.

Tully & Dillon come out next and we the Norfolk video again with new narration.

"Ragin Bull" Manny Fernandez & "Boogie Woogie Man" Jimmy Valiant vs. Bill Mulkey & Ron Rossi (6/3/86)

Another quick squash.

Next we get promos from the Russians, Arn, & Flair for the 7/1 show in Philly.

The Rock n Roll Express (Robert Gibson & Ricky Morton) vs. Golden Terror & Thunderfoot (6/3/86)

This crowd is completely apeshit for RnR as they take apart the masked jobbers with Morton using a DDT to beat Terror.

The Horsemen are out next minus Ole of course all dressed up in suits talking about how great they are and then we get Dusty and the babyfaces behind him with Dusty challenging Flair to get in the ring later on for a match on TV. Flair said that it costs a ton of money to get him to work on TV..this is a definite extra.

Cornette & Bubba are out next and he said that the bounty on the James Boys has been raised to $100,000.

Ivan & Nikita Koloff vs. Denny Brown & Sam Houston (6/3/86)

Ivan takes some good punishment early from the faces but a quick Russian Sickle by Nikita on Sam ends the match just like that.

Magnum comes out next with his US Title belt which he lost because he was pushed over the line by the Koloffs and he said that the title belongs to him and no one else. Very strong promo from Magnum and extra material.

Teijho Khan, Baron Von Raschke, & Shaska Whatley vs. Todd Champion, Rocky Kernodle, & Rocky King (6/3/86)

After some back and forth action, Baron would get the black glove and used it on Rocky to win the match.

Then we get promos from Valiant, Baby Doll, RnR, & Magnum for the 7/1 show in Philly.

Championship Wrestling 6/7/86

Denny Brown & Don Kernodle cut promos to start the show talking about the Bash which was interesting.

Arn Anderson & Tully Blanchard vs. Bob Owens & Bill Tabb (5/31/86)

Arn & Tully weren't a regular team yet but man were they good together.

RnR are out next for a promo with Arn & Tully heckling them as they leave the area and they say that they won't go down easy.

Arn & Tully then cut a promo next gloating about their victory and how they injured the RnR.

The Rock n Roll Express vs. Bill & Randy Mulkey (5/31/86)

Easy win for the RnR.

Paul Jones & Shaska Whatley are out next for a promo and they plan on cutting some more hair as they challenge Valiant to come out for a fight. Jones then wants Shaska to search the building and the parking lot for him.

Baron Von Raschke vs. Vernon Deaton (5/31/86)

Baron wins this one without the glove.

"Mr. Electricity" Steve Regal vs. David Dillenger (5/31/86)

Regal toys with Dillenger before putting him away.

Flair comes out next for a promo talking about how has to wrestle the best competition every night and said that he expects nothing less being the champion. Extra material.

Shaska Whatley vs. George South (5/31/86)

South ain't Valiant and Whatley just manhandles him.

Ivan & Nikita are out next talking about the Magnum/Nikita match that will happen on WCW that night.

"Russian Bear" Ivan Koloff vs. Rocky King (5/31/86)

Rocky jumps Ivan at the start of the match which pissed him off and Ivan made him pay.

Ronnie Garvin & Wahoo are out next talking about Jimmy Garvin & Tully.

Cornette & Bubba are out next with Cornette talking about his history with Bubba.

The Midnight Express ("Loverboy" Dennis Condrey & "Beautiful" Bobby Eaton) vs. Paul Garner & Kent Glover (5/31/86)

Total beatdown here.

Cornette then says after the match that he can beat Baby Doll on his own because she is a woman.

World Championship Wrestling 6/7/86

David & Tony talk about how there was supposed to be the Magnum/Nikita US Title match today on TV and Magnum was stripped of his title with more details later.

Ronnie Garvin comes out next for a promo talking about how he can't wait to knock Tully out on the Bash tour.

The Rock n Roll Express (Robert Gibson & Ricky Morton) vs. Kent Glover & Bob Owens (6/7/86)

Morton uses his DDT again before the Double Dropkick to get the win.

Cornette & Bubba are out next talking about Baby Doll and America's Team yet again.

Flair is out next and we have the debut of the Flair fans in suits at Techwood Studios with Flair saying that he is setting the trends around here. Flair then talks about how Ole is back and how they beat up Dusty Rhodes as well as talking up the Bashes. Extra material.

"Ragin Bull" Manny Fernandez vs. Larry Clarke (6/7/86)

Bull wins quickly and cuts a promo afterwards with Valiant about the Paul Jones Army with a picture of a bald Jones.

"American Dream" Dusty Rhodes vs. Vernon Deaton (6/3/86)

This is from the 6/7/86 episode of World Wide Wrestling and a legendary angle as Dusty gets rid of Deaton then Flair who he challenged earlier in the show comes out for a match.

NWA World Heavyweight Title: "Nature Boy" Ric Flair © vs. "American Dream" Dusty Rhodes (6/3/86)

Dusty is really working over Flair when Arn & Tully ran out for the DQ and then the returning Ole Anderson ran out for a full Horsemen beatdown marking the first time the Horsemen had been in full in 6 months. Magnum & RnR ran out to make the save on Dusty before they injured him as the Horsemen celebrated. Ole's promo here is so fantastic. Slam dunk extra.

Arn comes out for a promo saying that Horsemen are in full and are on a mission of crippling Dusty Rhodes. Arn is great here. Extra material.

Next we get David & Tony talking about Magnum being stripped of his title because he attacked Nikita at the press conference. Bob Geigel reprimanded Magnum for his actions which pissed off Magnum who punched Geigel prompting the stripping. Definite extra.

Ivan & Nikita are out next talking about the upcoming Best of 7 series for the US Title on the Bash tour because Jim Crockett said that the title will be decided that way not Nikita getting the belt automatically. Extra material.

Arn Anderson & Tully Blanchard vs. Randy Mulkey & George South (6/7/86)

The Horsemen are motivated and Arn just nukes Mulkey with a Spinebuster then the spiked Gourdbuster.

Baby Doll is out next introducing a taped promo from Dusty talking about Ole coming back and called him a redneck bigamist. Dusty then rips on "fake wrestling" and people that rips on wrestling fans. Extra material.

"Russian Nightmare" Nikita Koloff vs. Todd Champion (6/7/86)

Champion hangs with Nikita early when it came to working strength spots but a quick Russian Sickle does the job.

Tully & Dillon are out next for a promo about Garvin and the upcoming taped fist matches.

Magnum is out next still holding his US Title and he is still pissed about the situation with Geigel and Nikita. Magnum again is fired up and cuts a strong promo. Extra material.

The Barbarian & Shaska Whatley vs. Jim Dawson & Italian Stallion (6/7/86)

Easy win for the heels but Bull, Valiant, & Garvin come out after the match and they cut some of Shaska's hair. Extra material.

Wahoo is out next with his strap talking about his battles with Garvin and now Steve Regal.

Chief Wahoo McDaniel vs. Lee Peak (6/7/86)

Peak pays for Garvin's sins here.

Cornette & Bubba are out next telling the James Boys that Bubba is here and he would take care of them.

The Midnight Express ("Loverboy" Dennis Condrey & "Beautiful" Bobby Eaton) vs. Robert Burroughs & Vernon Deaton (6/7/86)

Cornette said that Deaton has a real bad drug problem as every time he works against the MX he gets drug around the ring and outside the ring. This match is no different as the MX just steamroll these guys.

Tony then talks about the Rock n Roll Express Super Summer Sizzler Tour which is taking place during the Bash with RnR cutting a promo about it.

"Hands of Stone" Ronnie Garvin vs. Bill Tabb (6/7/86)

Mr. Torture takes the big man down and does what he does best before KOing him.

Bull is out next talking about cutting Shaska's hair earlier and said that more is coming with Valiant saying that war is here.

The James Boys & Baby Doll are out next saying they are looking for the MX and they will get them soon.

Garvin, Regal, & Precious are out next talking about Wahoo and they are going force him to leave. Garvin then said that Magnum's mom should be ashamed of him because he was a dancer in San Francisco.....HILARIOUS.
